Possible Ending of The Lonely Shining Goblin

tvN's new popular drama, Goblin tells a story of an immortal "goblin" named Kim Shin (played by Gong Yoo) and has the rather honorable title of being the Protector of Souls. His roommate Wang Yeo (played by Lee Dong Wook) also happens to have the equally lofty, if thoroughly opposing, title of Angel of Death, and he acts as the storied grim reaper that claims souls.

However, both these devilishly handsome angels have a problem: Wang Yeo has amnesia and Kim Shin wants to end his own (immortal) life. Unfortunately for goblins, the only way to defeat immortality is to marry a human bride. After living for around 900 years, with a strict principle for not meddling with the life & death of mortals, he fulfill a dying pregnant mother’s wish allowing her & her daughter Ji Eun Tak (played by Kim Go Eun) to live, letting them spending 9 years together. Eun Tak now lives with her ungrateful aunt’s family and she magically can see mythical characters such as Goblin, Grim Reaper, Ghosts. Eun Tak’s mother & unborn baby Eun Taek were destined to die that day & are Grim Reaper Wang Yeo’s missing souls.

As fate would have it, Kim Shin encounters Ji Eun Tak (played by Kim Go Eun) a quirky, yet cheerful, girl who may be the answer to ending his cursed existence. Appearing in front of Eun Tak on her lonely birthday, Kim Shin becomes her guardian granting her wishes & getting summoned when she thinks / calls him. Thanks to him, her life is no longer lonely & she gets a job at Kim Sun also known as Sunny’s (played by Yoo In Na) chicken shop.

Kim Shin’s cheeky ‘nephew’ Yoo Duk Hwa (Yook Sung Jae) secretly rents out a room at his mansion to Wang Yeo where their bromance blossoms.

Now, once responsible for protecting souls and watching them pass, Kim Shin tries to send his own soul to the afterlife. But when a slightly complicated method of suicide starts turning into true love, will our immortal goblin begin to regret his decision--where acting on that very love ultimately means the end of his life?

We all know about Goblin, having its own unique story. It is not a common story in K-drama World yet it's surprisingly a huge amount of fans who happen to like the story so much. We just only had 4 episodes, but there is a huge curiousity in me for what's gonna happen between them in the end:

1. Happy Ending
There is a possibility that Shin would choose to live his long life together with Ji Eun Tak, but the question is, Ji Eun Tak is a human and she can get older. Unless, if Ji Eun Tak transformed as a goblin too, then there would be no question. Maybe if we think about Twilight, this idea could also happen to them? But then when they are about to end their lives, that's the time when Eun Tak has to pull the sword for Shin, which means Shin should still be the one who has to leave first.
But that's better right when both of them enjoy the long-life together? Maybe Eun Tak will stop her aging state once she reaches 25 years old, considering she has the birth mark and also a goblin's bride.

2. Sad Ending
As we all know, it was very possible that we are going to get a sad ending because right from the start it's gonna be a sad love story. When Shin finally meets his love, that's when he has to die. It's so sad right? I think this scenario is very possible but our writer won't give us that kind of ending in a direct way. There must be a side story as how the writer will come out with the last ending.

Regarding our Grim Reaper & Sunny, why is it that I sense a sad ending for them?
This one is totally impossible to happen because Grim Reaper is someone who is dead already but somehow they existed in our daily lives. When you compare it to 49 days, it's hard to tell which one is the right one. But Grim Reaper in 49 days can only be seen by the soul, not in human's eyes. I guess the romance between one who still lives and one who is dead is hard. But there is a possibility that Sunny may be Grim Reaper's part of his past life...and this may lead to something. Maybe their ill-fated romance in the past? Or what?

There is a theory that Grim Reaper is actually the reincarnation of the King and Sunny is the Princess. I think the King killed the Goblin because he was jealous that he had the love of the princess (and because of the manipulations of his advisor), and that's why when he died he became a Grim Reaper (to pay for his sin). My proof for my theory is the scene with the green ring.. it was the ring that belonged to the princess, and when he saw it and Sunny a tear slide down his face. Also when the old woman/sexy young seller said 'You'll both pay a heavy price for it anyway'. As well as the fact that he has an amnesia.
