Little Angel: Korean Dramas that I watch recently

After the ending of Uncontrollably Fond and W last weeks, here comes the show that I watch currently. Much to the excitement, there are also some K-drama I haven't watched much. 

Monday - Tuesday

Love in the Moonlight/Moonlight Drawn by Clouds

Love in the moonlight is truly a win for me for the whole week. Been waiting for each episodes, wishing that I could get to see our Crown Prince (played by Park Bo Gum) every day in my Moonlight bubble happy place and pretend the rest of the week didn’t happen.

Not only are the music, the story line, the editing scene, the visuals, and the acting all executed so well that I feel my heart fluttering like a teenager’s again, I love how this show makes an old trope new. Let’s face it, we’ve seen the crossdressing romance done, and done well, before. But this drama mines all the angst and the tension, and gives us the swoony satisfaction that we crave, while still managing to give us a new dynamic between hero and heroine. I love it even more that they set it in historical period rather than in modern time, which raises some stakes to note, that heightened emotional feeling that is underscored even more by the nature of life in the inner palace.

Is cutie Crown Prince out to get me? Why is he continually trying to kill me with every episode? You should take it easy with the teary-eyed smiles, Yeong – I want to live to see the rest of the show. Like how Ra On (played by Kim Yoo Jung) made you get angry when she is not around. You made me crazy when I don't see you around with your Bombastic dance. 

The reasons why this drama gets a big hit is because they incorporated some of the value in which other dramas might not do it usually, specially with the first teaser which captures and attracts a lot of attentions. 

Crown Prince Yeong really portrays a childish and naughty boy who is learning how to be an adult, with his bombastic teaser, it perfectly fits with his character. OMG, that glint in his eyes and his expression, I'm dying~ 

Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo 

I had a big hope at first actually for this drama, since it's a pre-produced drama, that means the production might have more time to do good, or even better editing. They do not need to rush anything and slowly take their time to ensure the successful of the story line. Yet, I find each episodes of Moon Lovers to be good as an individual episodes rather than as a whole. It is hard to point out what has gone wrong because when I point out the editing failures, that itself doesn't necessarily fix it. Sometimes I’ll come across some puzzling edits, jarring cuts, and nonsensical compositions which are confusing to some of the viewers.

I also found a scene when Soo (played by IU) look at Wook, the 8th Prince (played by Kang Ha Neul) to be out of focus. Is the videographer suddenly too tired to hold on the camera? I do wonder. (To note: not in this picture)

But after Love in the Moonlight, I always reach for this drama, but at the end of every hour, I’m dissatisfied. There are some plots which I think it will be better if they follow the original one, rather than making a new one, it seems to be forced much. 

Wednesday - Thrusday

Jealousy Incarnate

This drama is typically a mature love story rather than a heart-warming teenage's love. 

Let's admit it, It's not a new for us to see a love story between the male lead's best friend with female lead, leading to triangle love. I know this is not a show I'll be rooting much, but I do watch it every week, but not as much as I wait for Love in the Moonlight.

This show certainly takes its time getting anywhere, but the slow unraveling of Lee Hwa Sin's (played by Jo Jung Suk) true feelings towards Pyo Na Ari (played by Gong Hyo Jin) was worth the wait. Now that we’re here in mixed-up-feelings romanceland, you’ve got me.

On the Way to Airport

Much to my anticipation, 'Road to the Airport' depicts thoughts about relationship between people. The drama begins with a question, 'Couldn't there be any decent relationship between a married man and a married woman in this world?" It is a melodrama touching your heart to deliver empathy, solace and thoughts about ultimate love to drama fans through the stories of the leading characters.

Cinderella and the Four Knights

Is there any way to send Son Na Eun’s character to fashion school on a different continent? She’s putting a damper on my cotton candy fluff, and this show is not one to hold up well under any dampening, of any kind whatsoever. 

Watching this show feels like a totally different world than all the previous dramas I mentioned. I really don't like it when Son Na Eun's character is so clingy, making things to be complicated purposefully and it feels as if this show is totally a high-school dramas with some of the obvious lines and plot. Even more when Eun Ha Won (played by Park So Dam) finds out Kang Ji Woon's (played by Jung Il Woo) feeling towards Hye Ji (played by Son Na Eun), she looks much jealous and it's obvious that she has feelings for Ji Woon. But in this show, it seems as if Ji Woon still wonders what he did wrong to her. Gosh, frustrating with the so-much-obvious acting!

Cinderella & the Four Knights Possible Ending

Been watching this drama for the past few weeks and I guess, it's pretty easy to guess on the possibility of the ending. Just fyi, I am not going to do the recap for this one, since the story is pretty straight-forward. 

Up to episode 10, there are some development on the each character feelings and there is a very complicated case actually since it involves largely all the character. After living together for the past weeks, it seems that the Hanuel Group Brothers adapt well with the appearance of Eun Ha Won (played by Park So Dam). Assuming that she failed the mission given by the Grandpa, she decided to leave the Hanuel Sky Home and ends up getting bullied by the girls in her college. But, as this is the romantic drama, you would absolutely expect the hero to come out and help her, and that's true!! The three of Hanuel Brother come to save her and it's Kang Ji Woon (played by Jung Il Woo) who is the first one who found her. 

Meanwhile, Kang Hyun Min (played by Ahn Jae Hyun) starts to think that he is indeed interested in Eun Ha Won and finally he confessed his feelings to her. Unfortunately, the confession is aired publicly in the university and Eun Ha Won rejected him and told him to think about his feelings, whether he really means it, or it's just a temporary one. Kang Hyun Min was frustrated for a few days because it's the first time he's been rejected by someone. On the other hand, Hye Ji (played by Son Na Eun) keeps clinging onto Kang Hyun Min. 

At first, because of Hye Ji, Ji Woon swears that he is going to steal Ha Won from Hyun Min. But he starts to have feeling for real with their interactions. It's the same for Eun Ha Won, because she seems to like Ji Woon, although Kang Seo Woo also likes Ha Won. However, because Hyun Min keeps rejecting Hye Ji, Hye Ji then told Hyun Min that she is going to forget about him and asked Ji Woon whether he would accept her. I swear that I really don't like Hye Ji's character. Do you think that you can use a person like that? Do you think it's okay to play with someone's feeling? 

If a guy doesn't love you, just go and don't cling onto them. But Hye Ji keeps doing that while using Ji Woon as her shield. Using him as the place when things get hard. It's so unfair for Ji Woon when everytime they meet, it's Ji Woon's duty to comfort and console her. Meanwhile, she has done nothing exactly for him. I don't like this type of girl when what she cares is only about what she feels. Hye Ji is a typical of selfish woman. 

Eun Ha Won is a typical girl, who is pretty straight-forward and honest. I kinda like her character. Been liking Ji Woon's mysterious and quiet personality rather than a player like Hyun Min. But Hyun Min is so sexy. Meanwhile, Seo Woo seems to be a cheerful man with a lot of kindness. 

I guess, the ending would be, Kang Ji Woon will be with Eun Ha Won. Although they may need to go through the Grandpa for permission. Kang Hyun Min will be with Hye Ji, knowing his true feelings and finally able to accept her. While Kang Seo Woo will be with Ha Won's best friend. And the one who is going to manage Hanuel Group will be Lee Yoon Sung.

Cinderella & the Four Knights Drama Review

Cinderella and Four Knights is a South Korean television series aired on August 12, 2016 starring Jung Il Woo, Ahn Jae Hyun, Lee Jung Shin, Park So Dam, Son Na Eun and Choi Min, about passionate young people in their 20s who happen to live together. It is similar to Boys Over Flowers and it is based on the novel with the same title, published in 2011. The series was fully pre-produced before its premiere.

Personally, I don't quite like how the female lead looks like, it's just too mainstream that she has a short hair, like Goo Hye Sun in BOF. Maybe it's just my preference only to like a woman with at least shoulders length hair. Bob style also can do but not something like what Park So Dam looks like. But well, let's just that I close my eyes. Park So Dam's acting is quite alright and I guess she's getting better each episodes. Even I thought her character is somewhat like Eun Ha Won. She's quite a temper and not like every female lead, a weak character. She seems to also be despair regarding her condition too. 

After watching episode 1 up tp 6, I think this drama fits more to teenager rather than young adult, although there might be people who like it more than a drama that fits their age range. The story is quite simple and yet there is nothing heavy to think about since the purpose of the story is to potray each characters differently. I bet there will be none like complicated case, if there are, it will only be the competition for the heir of Haneul Group and woman, as it's regarding Eun Ha Won, the Cinderella. It's very typical like Boys Over Flowers. 

Besides, the architecture of the house is very maginificent and I really like how they designed the place. Is it a real place of maybe a 3D pictures? That's my question. I also wonder who's the male lead because both of Jung Il Woo and Ahn Jae Hyun seems to have the same amount of screen time. It's so funny when Ahn Jae Hyun says to Park So Dam, "If you are not falling for me, that means you are not a woman." because Ahn Jae Hyun is so handsomely beautiful. Seriously, his lips is so sexy and he's sexy in his own charming way. 

In whatever case, I hope we'll be seeing a more beautiful side of Eun Ha Won or else, she will be compared not good enough against Son Na Eun because she's beautiful there while I am kinda annoyed with her character and personality there.
