Descendant of the Sun - Recap Ep 4

Captain Yoo Shi Jin told the rest of the his army to stand one by one with their gun and ready to shoot anyone. He said, the doctor will save the patient and he will just protect what he has to protect. Gosh, this charming guy *wink*

Mo Yeon tries to save the Arab President although the surgery is pretty hard and the BP (blood pressures) keep dropping down, but she calmly tells the rest of the nurses and assistant surgeon to stay on the track and follows what she tells them to do and stops whining.

The bodyguard tells Shi Jin, if anything goes wrong, he will pay for this. Meanwhile, the Commander is pissed off because Shi Jin doesn't follow the order to leave the Arab President onto his personal Arab Doctor. But Shi Jin doesn't even bother by that and keep protecting the surgery until the end.

Mo Yeon successes in saving the Arab President, and the Arab Doctor says it seems the surgery operation went well but to call it a success, the patient must wake up first and tells Mo Yeon that by doing things like that, it doesn't mean she has done something right because the Arab President could also die. Mo Yeon doesn't back off and tells him, if she has done nothing, what he could see is only a dead body.

Because Shi Jin doesn't follow order, the Special Force Commander order him to be dismissed from his post for insubordination and have him to be detained in the barracks. Myeong Ju's father said he appreciates what they have done and they did a really good job, but an order will still be an order and there is no change on that.

Shi Jin takes off his equipment and gives Dae Yong the gun and told him to follow up certain measures on behalf of him. He then tells the Arab bodyguard that he's been summoned then he lefts that place.

Dae Yong brings Shi Jin to supply room as the place for his detention. Shi Jin never expects he is going to stay in the supply room and hopes to change it to food storage room instead. The Division Commander arrives suddenly and tells Dae Yong to go out because he needs to speak with Shi Jin. Without a word, he then kicks Shi Jin's feet and scolds him for being a lunatic. He asks Shi Jin how could he do that? Because by doing that one time mistake, Shi Jin lose the chance for being promoted.

Shi Jin confidently tells him he doesn't regret what he has done and he will take full responsibility on that. The Division Commander was pissed off with Shi Jin's words. Dae Yong who waits outside was asked by Mo Yeon about Shi Jin's whereabouts. Dae Yong tells her that Shi Jin is being detained and cannot meet anyone. Mo Yeon begs him to meet with Shi Jin for only 5 minutes, but then the Division Commander comes out and is looking for Mo Yeon.

The Division Commander asks Mo Yeon about the VIP patient, and what if he doesn't wake up. Mo Yeon gives him a confident answer that what she has been doing is just a medical rational decision. The Division Commander then said, "You are very confident. Even if you are being fired, you can just open a clinic, right? Because you are so famous. But you trashed Yoo Shi Jin's career. His 10-plus army career just became a waste and he'll never get promoted. If the VIP never wakes up, he'll rot in prison and that's because your medically rational decision." In the end, The Division Commander said his favor to Mo Yeon to wake the VIP patient for the sake of saving everyone's career.

The Division Commander leaves the place and order Dae Yong to go to the airport because the transfer order still exist. Dae Yong then visits Shi Jin to say his goodbye to his superior. He said to him that he is is running away because it is an order, not his will.

Shi Jin tells him, he doesn't need to report anymore since Shi Jin is no longer his superior since he was dismissed. Dae Yong then tells him with an intense gaze, "Today, everyone calls what my superior officer done was right and justified. And today, what my superior officer made was honorable."

Shi Jin looks surprised with what Dae Yong has just said but he is pleased to hear that. I guess that's what Shi Jin also hopes to hear, at least from someone.

Kang Mo Yeon is waiting outside and she gets 10 minutes to speak with Shi Jin. Shi Jin then comes close to the wall and says with a smile, "It's nice to have you here....". Mo Yeon says sorry to him but Shi Jin refuses her apologies, because Mo Yeon didn't do anything she needs to sorry about. Mo Yeon tells him the VIP patient hasn't woken up yet.

Shi Jin then tells him, why does she have to worry about so many men and says, "Don't be such a flirt. At this moment, you can only worry about me. I realize, what you said before was true." Mo Yeon asks him what it is and Shi Jin tells her about being sexy in operating room. Mo Yeon sheds tears and asks him why he chose to do that before if he is going to end up like that. Mo Yeon says that Shi Jin is able to make a choice.

Shi Jin says his rule is to protect beautiful women, children and eldery and at that time, a beauty and an old man were there and that's why he goes to protect them. OMG. Gosh, even at this moment, he can say something like this!! But yeah, that's being honest. Then he says, "You were very brave today." which makes Mo Yeon cries even more.

Shi Jin realizes Mo Yeon is crying over there. Mo Yeon asks him how he has been doing there? Is that bearable and what else does he need? Shi Jin tells her, he needs explosives. He was fine until a while ago, but at that moment, he really wants to break out of there because of someone. *because a beauty is crying next to him* OMG OMG OMG that's true...a guy couldn't bear to see a woman cry.

The Arab President finally wakes up and the tension has been stable now and he left the area. The rest of the soldier and doctors are safe and happy to see that everything runs smoothly. Dae Yong arrives at the airport and met Myeong Ju who just arrives from Korea.

Myeong Ju asks him why he is there and is he going to run away again. Dae Yong tells her he is been ordered to return to Korea. Myeong Ju slaps him hard and says, "Say it's a strategic retreat. Tell me to wait. Say you'll do whatever it takes to come back!"

Dae Yong tells her to put on her uniform no matter what because the insect there bites. Dae Yong is ready to leave, but Myeong Ju holds his hand but unexpectedly, Dae Yong pulls her closer and hug her, telling her to take care of herself.

Dae Yong then leaves her meanwhile Myeong Ju keeps mumbling for him to hear, "Why do you hug me? Why do you touch me? Take your ownership for your own action. You said seeing me like this makes you sad. You're so nice to other women but why not me?"

Myeong Ju returns back to where they first met. It's where they both agreed to attend Dae Yong's ex-gf wedding party. Myeong Ju asked him whether he really loves that woman since there is also a level on revenge. Dae Yong said he is not going there to have a revenge, but to congrats her and rest her assured that he lives well even without her. Myeong Ju asks him why he insists on attending that party if he doesn't love her enough. Dae Yong said it's because he once promised his ex-gf that he is only going to make her happy. Myeong Ju then pretends to be his gf and he sincerely congrats his ex-gf on her marriage and they both end up with a fake rumor about Dae Yong and Myeong Ju goes for a date.

In Seoul, they have received the news about the Arab President and Special Force Commander decides to let Yoo Shi Jin go and have him into disciplinary committee. Yoo Shi Jin then was released.

Kang Mo Yeon approaches him after he was released as she wants to say thank you to him for trusting her in saving that VIP patient. Shi Jin apologies to her about saying some doctors should only do broadcasting. He wasn't serious about that. Mo Yeon says it's not incorrect, but Shi Jin refuses her reasoning, saying it is incorrect to say that to someone who works to save up a patient with a gun pointing at her.

Suddenly, the Arab bodyguard arrives there to pick up Mo Yeon and Shi Jin to meet with Arab President. The Arab President wants to say thank you for saving his life and gives them a card that can be used and save them in any situation when the Arab is there. Shi Jin uses the card to borrow the car to get back to the camp and Mo Yeon starts nagging in the car, how stupid he must be to use that card only to borrow car. Shi Jin tells her, it takes about 2 and a half hour to get back but if he drives on that speed, they are going to arrive around half an hour and he is going to use the remaining 2 hours to have a date with her.

Both of them are having a good time in the cafe nearby. Shi Jin asks Mo Yeon why she decided to become a doctor. Mo Yeon answers him, it's because she did well at school, specially in math. Then she also said, "Doctors seemed to be paid well. It's my belief that a life chasing money is better than being chased by money. It's my courage that whatever others do, I get paid for what I do. It's also my common sense to open up a clinic in Gangnam. Well, you can call me materialistic if you want. I settled it with myself that I became a doctor for money. A lot has happened during the time you were gone and I have changed a lot too. But you seem do not change much."

Shi Jin then says, of course he has changed too, he is more handsome now and says Mo Yeon's smile is even prettier than before. Suddenly a call is coming in, and Shi Jin is sorry again toward Mo Yeon. Mo Yeon doesn't back off this time and asks him why their date always end up like that, in Korea and also there. She then asks him where he is going to and what if she wants to come along.

Shi Jin brings her to a funeral and drives her back to the camp. Mo Yeon asks him finally after they have arrived, who the dead guy is and what happened to him. Shi Jin answers her that the guy is his comrades and that happens when he is about to maintain peace. Mo Yeon looks shocked and says, if that's what happen, that means Shi Jin can also die.

Shi Jin stops her not to say anything anymore and tells her, "This is why I am always the lower hand in this relationship." and tells her to just rest for the day.

The next day, Shi Jin is not around since he has to attend disciplinary action. Shi Jin's salary was deducted for three months and his name was out of list for being promoted. Mo Yeon who knows about this chase Shi Jin to the downtown and begs for the punishment to be left off from Shi Jin.

Shi Jin is pissed enough with her rash action and tells her that the decision he made before is not because of her. He says, "Do you think I agreed to this to save a woman?" He then explains, "Do you remember my gunshot wound on the day we first met? One of my superiors told me this on my first day, as a Captain of Special Forces, -Soldiers always live with a shroud on. When you die in a nameless land for the sake of your country, the place of your death becomes your grave and your uniform becomes your shroud. This should be your mind-set when you put on your uniform. If you have put it on with such mind-set, be honorable at every moment. There is no reason to fall short.- and I give my life to him. That gunshot is from that battle. No matter how small or big, all my decision includes my comrades' honor, glory and their call to duty. That particular situation was the same for me. I have made a decision based on all those things and I do not regret my decision. However, that cannot cover up the fact that I violated military law. Things that happen in the military will be left on ourself and that means you will let it be."

Mo Yeon almost in tears and says "I am really sorry that my concern gets in your way...." and then she leaves him on the road and rides the car back to the camp.

Shi Jin receives a call from Dae Yong. The first thing Dae Yong asked is, "Have you seen Myeong Ju?"
Shi Jin pissed off, "Is that an important thing right now? I just lost my promotion and salary, too!" Dae Yong said Shi Jin deserves it, because that is the price he needs to pay for a woman. Shi Jin clarifies with him, "I made that decision to protect the 'people'" and Dae Yong agrees, because of pretty 'people'.

Shi Jin is even pissed off. He asks Dae Yong, is that for that reason he is calling him? Dae Yong then asks him "Have you seen Myeong Ju?" and Shi Jin gets on his revenge, "Sergent Seo, do you know how expensive an international call? You are paying a huge price for a woman!" XD kkkeeee

Shi Jin arrives safely at the camp and he goes to the kitchen to grab a drink, but then Mo Yeon was there but she backs off when she saw Shi Jin, thinking that Shi Jin might need a time alone. Shi Jin said he wants to be with her and he offers her a drink and she agrees to drink wine.

It's raining outside and it's just a perfect time to have a date. Shi Jin tells her how great it would be to watch a movie and drink wine together and that reminds him of the date with Mo Yeon the last time. Shi Jin asks her whether she finally watched that movie or not. Mo Yeon claims she didn't because it was a movie she is going to watch with someone.

Mo Yeon then said, she came to conclusion to avoid planning on watching a good movie when she is on a date with a guy. She kept on seeing many articles about that movie and those articles reminds her of Yoo Shin Jin because that movie itself is equal to Yoo Shi Jin to her. OMG. Shi Jin then approaches her closely and kisses her.

My Personal Thought:

I like this episode even better!!! Gosh, how come Shi Jin is so cool with his words nowadays. My heart melts away when he comforts Mo Yeon with a joke, "You should only worry about me at this moment.", "My principle is to save beautiful woman, children and eldery and a beauty is there", "You look sexy in operation room"

He doesn't even dare to cover his thought and is very honest with his feeling from the very beginning and this is why I like him even more. Dae Yong was such a big help for me to comfort Shi Jin for him being detained and lose his promotion and salary. Well, no wonder they are good friends. Although Mo Yeon's concern was turned out to be something rash, but I guess Shi Jin appreciates her worries. The intense conversation, the understanding phase between them is just so perfect. A relationship should be build on a trust and understanding. Besides, the best scene is the kiss at the end! Yeah, what Mo Yeon said on the last scene was like a confession for me I think, indirectly. That means she thinks about him everytime she saw that movie.

The biggest problem is, Shi Jin is a soldier and that makes him in a disadvantage situation since his life is given to the country and he could die anytime. This is why he couldn't longer his hand to approach Mo Yeon more than what he has been doing since his work has made him for giving such a lower hand. It's between love or calling for duties. I am not sure also how they will end up together since both of them seems to be inspired a lot with their job and career.

Davichi [Single] - This Love (Descendant of the Sun OST Part 3)

Download Link (mp3 format):

Davichi - This Love [Descendant of the Sun OST Part 3]

For DotS, this is my favorite OST so far!! I never know that Davichi could bring the love story to this maximal point of emo-ing.

The ballad is pretty much describe how intense the relationship between Dae Yong and Myeong Ju.

I think Kim Ji Won specially deserves the title of being an actress this time round after playing some supporting in some other dramas like Heirs and To The Beautiful You. But this time, I guess she really does a lot and deserves a recognition because I like her acting so much now!!

Without even trying to say much words, we know and understand her love story just based on how her eyes look. That intense sad gaze just fit her emotion, character and story perfectly. She really improves a lot. It's just one thing I hope she could bring more laughter and smile for her next drama.

Just a moment ago I said Kim Ji Won should be offered a leading lady role and here comes the news from Soompi:

After news of Park Bo Gum confirming his role in the upcoming KBS 2TVdrama “Moonlight Drawn By Clouds” (tentative title) was released, it has been further revealed that actress Kim Ji Won is considering the role of the female lead.
A representative from KBS Media stated, “We’re currently considering and discussing several actresses; nothing has been decided regarding casting and contracts.”
The female lead role involves that of being the daughter of a rebel who disguises herself as a eunuch and enters the Royal Court. Named Hong Ra On, she will get involved with Kim Sat Gat (a historical minstrel). The actor for the role of Kim Sat Gat has not been decided yet either.
Kim Ji Won can currently be seen in KBS 2TV’s “Descendants of the Sun.”
“Moonlight Drawn By Clouds” tells the story of Crown Prince Hyomyeong (Park Bo Gum) and his palace love story set during the late Joseon Dynasty.
I guess, this project will be good if she takes it since she can explore more on historical drama XD.

Descendant of the Sun - Recap Ep 3

Welcome back to Wednesday again! I woke up pretty early this morning, just only for the sake of this drama because I saw this episode reach 23% in rating by AGB.

Captain Yoo Shi Jin met up again with Kang Mo Yeon, with his chich soldier uniform, he claimed to be the one responsible for the security and safety during their stay in Urk as Mowuru Company Commander, Captain Yoo Shi Jin. Kang Mo Yeon sees him with her expressless expression, it's most likely shocked yet happy to meet him again after 8 months.

Meanwhile, Captain Yoo passed by her without saying anything and just looking cool enough for me to want to hug him!! (*kyaaaa*) After giving the rest of the doctors an army bag, he picks up Mo Yeon's scarf and give it to her without saying anything and both of them just stares on each other.

They came back to the camp and the doctors are welcomed by flower arrangements. After that, they unpack their bag and some other stuffs they need to carry. There are also some medical cube for the doctors to use as part of their duties. The rest of the doctors who heard the converstation between Mo Yeon and Director from the hospital gossiped about her that being sent there was part of Mo Yeon's punishment, not just a volunteer work.

Mo Yeon unpacks her things with one of the nurses. Suddenly, Gi Bum, the thief who ran away from the hospital the other day was there to say hello to them. Mo Yeon is surprised to see how come he is there and becomes a soldier who give their life for the peace of the nation. She asked him how he is doing after being hurt on his right knee eight months ago and he answers her that he is super fine.

Then, Mo Yeon comes out from her camp and wants to explore the place. She accidentally see Yoo Shi Jin comes out from the car and brought a box that was sent over specially for Seo Dae Yong. Without saying anything, he walks away from Mo Yeon. Mo Yeon who is cleaning up her shoes says, "Does he not see me? Or is he ignoring me?" leading to the assumption that the string between them had broken up.

However, Captain Yoo with his desperate expression, look at the mirror for the presence of Kang Mo Yeon. Still awkwardly in silent and does not know what he should do. He knows that the doctor who comes there is Mo Yeon, but he doesn't know what to do about it. Fate leads them to meet again, but they are not destined to be together.

Captain Yoo gives the box to Dae Yong, assuming the gift box is from Myeong Jo, but Dae Yong told him it may be a handbomb but Shi Jin refuses that man can only die once and order him to open the box, like a man. Dae Yong opens it and said the red ginseng is supposed to be for the other Sergent and Captain Yoo asks for his gift but there is nothing for him and said, "Woah, this Myeong Jo, even after she brokes up with you, she still care a lot for you." leading Dae Yong to say, "This is what I am sad about." and told Captain Yoo that his gift is coming on the way there, which means Myeong Jo is coming there also for him.

In Seoul, Myeong Jo is informing her father that she is going to Greece for the sake of Dae Yong. She even can't wait to go there to meet him. The letter she sent to Dae Yong includes her line of, "I miss you every day." But her father said again to her that he likes Yoo Shi Jin better since he is a General Material and threatens her, by doing things like that will only give Dae Yong a hard time.

She said that her father should not treat based on personal feelings as a superior or else he will lose an excellent subordinate. His father said that Dae Yong stays in the army based on his advice. But then Myeong Jo states that Dae Yong choose to stay in the army is not because her father is a great superior, but because Dae Yong is a true soldier and because of that, she is in love with him no matter how the rank is divided in the army and she won't ever let him go. She still insists to go there even if her father stops her again this time, her dad will lose both a Lieutenant Yoon Myeong Ju and also a daughter Yoon Myeong Ju.

Mo Yeon see a bunch of children just around the restricted area across the camp after her phone call with her friends in Seoul, stating that she met again with the same guy eight months ago. The children are sucking their tumbs and Mo Yeon said don't eat that because it's dirty and gives one of them a snack. But then the rest of the children are asking for their part. Suddenly, Yoo Shi Jin comes to rescue her. He tells the children to go to the camp to get food and enjoy the welcoming party. Then he turns his back to Mo Yeon, asking her bravery for crossing the fence into the restricted area. Mo Yeon doesn't back off and asked him the same question. Then she just walked away, but there is a sound from the place she stands. Shi Jin jokes along with her, saying that it's a trap and she shouldn't move anywhere.

Mo Yeon believes in him, even asks him whether she is going to stay alive or not. She also begs him to save her and asks him whether he can rescue her from the bomb trap just like the one she saw last time on TV. Shi Jin said, during his 25 years being an outdoor guy he has only seen only one person who can disarm with Swiss army knife. Mo Yeon asks him who and he answers her, it's the one that Mo Yeon saw on TV. Mo Yeon feels being trapped by him and cursed him. Shi Jin then asks her attitude for cursing somebody who is indded the only one who can keep her alive. Then Mo Yeon begs him to call somebody again, but Shi Jin walk closer to her and said that he is going to replace himself to die instead.

Mo Yeon shocked and said it doesn't make sense if he is going to die to save her. Then because the closer they get, Shi Jin and Mo Yeon fell onto the ground together, with Shi Jin smiles while closing his eyes and Mo Yeon shakes her head, asking why there is no bomb sound.

Shi Jin then slighty lean his hand towards Mo Yeon and said "How have you been?" which makes Mo Yeon realizes that she is being tricked and sheds tears for causing her to panic. She then walks away and asks him not to even follow her or talk to her anymore.

Shi Jin worries that his joke has been taken seriously by Mo Yeon so he chases her and Dae Yong who see him, asks him what's going on. Shi Jin tells him that he has made that beautiful girl cry. Dae Yong responds him, "Seriously? U make her cry already?" which tell us that their bromance is really full of blossoms XD.  Shi Jin runs to her and says he is sorry for his over-joking and at that time, the Korea's flag is being flown into the sky. Shi Jin gives his salute and he turns Mo Yeon to give her oath position for their duty as a soldier and doctor.

The next day, Mo Yeon and the other nurses are having a good sight of the soldier guy who is shirtless with their good looking fugure going for a run. Shi Jin comes and asks her what's her planning for the medical team in the morning and afternoon. She ignores him because she is having a good time with the soldier showing off their body. Shi Jin knows that and tells the soldiers to get back to the camp since their jog time has finishes.

The next scene is, medical team is going to take blood sample on the soldier. When Mo Yeon comes in, a lot of guy is waiting for her to check the vein. Shi Jin comes in and asks what happens there and Mo Yeon tells him to be the one to be tested. Mo Yeon jokes with him that she can not find the vein. After two times of failing, Shi Jin touches Mo Yeon's hand and shows her the vein. Mo Yeon shows a shock expression. Shi Jin asks her whether it's her revenge on his joke the other day. Mo Yeon said she doesn't hold grudges.

Suddenly there is a sound across the mountain road, and there is a claim for an accident of truck. Team Korea has gone there to check whether there is any significant impact. Shi Jin saw there are two foreigners, one of them is dead and the other one is hurt. The victim claims they are UN and there should be no harm but Shi Jin found out that they are actually the guy behind gun black-market.

Shi Jin comes back to the base and wants to report this incident. Meanwhile, Mo Yeon asks Dae Yong whether there is a Wi-Fi over there because she needs to wire money. Dae Yong suggests Mo Yeon to come together with Shi Jin, because Shi Jin is going downtown and the place is near to the internet cafe.

Shi Jin asks whether Dae Yong eat something wrong this morning but agrees finally to take Mo Yeon and enjoys their free time together. Shi Jin drives and Mo Yeon is on her phone saying she is going to wire the down payment.

Shi Jin also asks her whether she is moving. She said no and tells him her plane to quit from the hospital and starts her own clinic. Shi Jin asks her whether it is because of the scandal with the Hospital Director. Mo Yeon is surprised to know that Shi Jin even knows about the scandal and asks him how does he know? Shi Jin tells her that when she is not around, all of the medical team talk about it.

He then said, "He seems like not a nice guy. I am giving up on you not for you to date that person", Mo Yeon explains that she is not even dating the Hospital Director and said she was sent there as a symbol for her punishment, that's why she should wire the money to open her own clinic.

Mo Yeon asks him what's across the ocean there and Shi Jin tolds her that place is too far.

Shi Jin then drops her on Daniel's store (I dunno what store it is, but it seems Shi Jin is pretty close with Daniel. Daniel has a Korean wife - but that girl claims herself as co-partner only) and tells her to stay there, transfers the money and he will be back for a while. Shi Jin comes to the base and the Commander tells him not to care about the black-market selling of gun because the time is near for their comeback to their home-country and if there is nothing wrong, the Commander and Shi Jin will be promoted. Shi Jin smiles and said okay. Then suddenly there is an order for Sergent Seo Dae Yong to come back to Korea asap.

On the way back, Shi Jin has his depression look on his face. Mo Yeon can tell Shi Jin is bothered by something and he reveals that Dae Young’s transfer order came down. He’s upset because the reason for that transfer isn’t proper – it’s not the order of a superior officer but of a father. Mo Yeon understands that Myung Joo’s father is a key player in this makjang drama which is still going on. She also asks him how Dae Yong and Myeong Jo first meet.

Shi Jin tolds her, at that time, Myeong Jo is an army surgeon and notices Dae Yong for having an injury but insists not to be treated and get the first place. Myeong Jo suspects him wanting the first place so that he can gain a vacation to attend his ex-gf wedding and crushing the wedding party. Dae Yong says that's the truth and both of them comes to the wedding to crush it, with Myeong Jo's suggestion to bring her also to the wedding. The problem is that. Myeong Jo's dad prefers Yoo Shi Jin to become his son-in-law because he is a General material and the future will be good. But Myeong Jo said she doesn't like Shi Jin's face because it's too dandy.

They are arriving somewhere around the boat and Shi Jin said they are going to the beach, and it will be better to go there before they both get busy. Mo Yeon asks him, just now he says that place is too far. Then, with a strong gaze, Shi Jin says, "Yes, it's far and I want to spend a long time with you."

Mo Yeon stops and doesn't follow Shi Jin towards the boat. Shi Jin said, if she is curious enough about Dae Yong and Myeong Ju, she should follow him. Shi Jin continues his story and it stops when Mo Yeon hears that Myung Joo’s dad wants Shi Jin to be his son-in-law. She wants to know if Shi Jin-Myung Joo-Dae Young is in a love triangle? Shi Jin nonchalantly says yes and doesn’t think Mo Yeon has any right to ask since she dumped him already and asks Mo Yeon why she is so curious about it when she doesn't even interested on him. Mo Yeon tries to act cool about it but Shi Jin can tell she really wants to know.

Shi Jin helps Mo Yeon onto the speedboat and they take off for the island to go explore a landlocked vessel on the beach. The scene is very spectacular, with Shi Jin being confident and charming enough to say "Hold on tightly or you will fly away." The background song also fits perfectly. I can tell it's K.Will voice. Maybe this OST will become part 4. After they arrive, Shi Jin offers his hand to help Mo Yeon off the boat but she ignores it and jumps right on the beach.

Mo Yeon thinks this place is too pretty and Shi Jin tells her to come back. He picks up a rock from the island and explains that the local culture believes that taking a rock from here will lead a person back to return the rock. He gives the rock to Mo Yeon and she finds the belief very romantic. Wandering through the shipwreck, Mo Yeon wonders how this ship got stuck here? Shi Jin thinks it was captivated by here, and people get stuck when captivated.

Mo Yeon asks if Shi Jin has ever been captivated and he admits he has and she knows all about it. OMG. That means it's by HER!!! Mo Yeon and Shi Jin stare at each other silently until he asks what her answer is to his question about how she’s been these days? Does she still look sexy in the OR? Mo Yeon remains cool to Shi Jin, dispelling his belief that she’s here for charitable reasons. She’s here because a powerful person is punishing her and her goal is to go back as soon as she can and regain her position back home. She is also not doing surgeries anymore because it doesn’t help her career. Shi Jin says he understands while Mo Yeon caresses the rock in her hand.

Mo Yeon and Shi Jin arrive back on the base to see Chi Hoon (played by Onew from Shinee) carrying the boy into the infirmary. Mo Yeon checks him out and is trying to figure out what the ailment is, and wonders if the kids around here are ingesting something bad. Mo Yeon remembers the kids out scrounging and eating some stuff. She orders Chi Hoon to administer some treatment for poisoning.

Shi Jin offers to help translate when the boy wakes up but Mo Yeon keeps him at a distance saying this is for the medical team to handle. Shi Jin brings up how the Dr. Kang he knew believed that all life was precious so why is she not doing her best.

Mo Yeon says this is a rare condition but Shi Jin rebuts that it’s rare in Korea but common here. Mo Yeon thinks not all doctors are working out in the field all the time and Shi Jin agrees, some go on TV shows.

In this episode, we also see how Myeong Jo's father came to Dae Yong last time and told him to let his daughter go for the sake of her future. Dae Yong asks him whether it's an order or not and he said, he doesn't want to go that further but if that keeps him from getting closer to his daugther, he will surely do that.

Neither are happy after that exchange but Shi Jin has more important matters to tend do as the base is placed under level 2 security emergency. Dr. Song wonders if enemy is attacking while Chi Hoon is willing to treat even the enemy since he is a doctor. The medical team is ordered to convene immediately for an arriving VIP patient.

Turns out an Arab envoy Mubarat who is in Urk to broker peace talks collapsed on his way back and is being rushed to the closest medical facility which is at the base. Both North and South Korea is informed about this development and General Yoon calls in a meeting with the Blue House.

Shi Jin hands Mo Yeon the medical file on the VIP patient and the doctors see that a lot of information has been blacked out. Mo Yeon says VIP patients often lie about their medical history anyway. Shi Jin radios in that the patient has arrived and is being treated now.

The doctors take the patient’s vitals and is about to treat him when the head bodyguard hands over a prescribed medicine from the envoy’s personal doctor. They inject it when the vitals start to drop precipitously and the patient’s abdomen swells up. Mo Yeon says the patient has hemoperi, his abdomen is bleeding, and needs surgery immediately.

The envoy’s bodyguards refuse to let him be operated on by non-Arab doctors and draw their guns to stop the surgery. Shi Jin demands to know from Mo Yeon whether she can save him? Mo Yeon pauses before saying that surgery will save the patient’s life. Shi Jin and his squad pull their guns and face off with the envoy’s bodyguards as he orders Mo Yeon to do the surgery.

My personal thought:

Episode 3 marks the reuniting between our main OTP after eight months of longing. I can see clearly that Shi Jin is respecting Mo Yeon's decision  back in Seoul when he let her walk away so coolly, not because he agrees with their different way of thinking. He doesn't know what to do when she appears again in his life.

But again, he is there and I like how he teases Mo Yeon everytime and glad to know he is able to speak out what he thought. The one I like the most is, "It's nice meeting you again..." left a very deep impression on me. That means he is thinking of her all this time. I also love how there is much interaction between our main OTP which is smoothly written. We can see their chemistry development and there is no pressure as far as I see since they are slowly but intensely trying to understand each other's mind. One of my fave interaction is on the shipwreck beach, in which Shi Jin admits he has ever been bewitched by things that are too beautiful.

Well, now I remember what Kim Eun Sook has written before in Secret Garden, "Things that are too beautiful sometimes are far from our reach." and well, the concept comes back again here. Meanwhile, Mo Yeon seems confused as to what she should do. Should she come back to where they were left off before? I know she seems curious enough about Shi Jin-Dae Yong-Myeng Jo's love line, but well, she can’t help but still be intrigued and attracted to Shi Jin, at the same time not wanting to pick up where they left off.

Besides, their conversation here is a bit more like trying to understand the limit and perspective. I’m glad that Shi Jin got to make a dig at Mo Yeon's doctorly aspirations on saving lives contrasted with her current lifestyle of being a VIP doctor on TV. I really enjoy episode 3 so far, because not only the relationship development between our main OTP, but also our second OTP, I got a really clear background now about Dae Yong and Myeong Ju. I guess, there won't be a love triangle between Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo and Kim Ji Won, because by those conflicts in the war area, it has been a really hard time to even consider love story

There is nothing wrong for this drama to get a 23% on rating because I like every second of it, specially the shipwreck, the cinematography is really amazing and I am glad they shot in Greece. Because it's really too beautiful there.

Episode 4 in my opinior, is going to be all about Mo Yeon's perspective, on how she feels when she knows Shi Jin doesn't obey the order from above to not operate the president. This is because they will blame the Doctor if the President dies.

One More Happy Ending Review Ep 01 - 12

In the midst of waiting for Descendant of the Sun, I am attracted into a rom-com starring Jang Nara and Jung Kyung Ho (SNSD's Choi Soo Young Boyfriend - officially since 2013).

Well, the story is not about both of them, but there are a few of other casts. I am ready to laugh because One More Happy Ending seems to bring the funny in a big way. The setup and the characters are nothing new, but the execution alternates between hilarious and heart-melting, while the characters draw you in with their flaws and missteps.

The central premise of the story is on mature adults finding love again after divorce, with a few finding love even without being divorced, but the characters will be interaction in core friendship units starting with the four leading ladies playing tight knit besties. Jang Nara,Yoo Da In, Yoo In Na, and Seo In Young were formerly in an idol girl group when they were younger and have continued that close friendship into their current selves far removed from that singing and dancing in sync world.

Jang Nara and Yoo Da In are both divorced and working as business partners at a matchmaking agency helping divorcees find love again. Yoo In Na plays frumpy as a school teacher and Seo In Young in stylish as a fashion maven running an internet shopping site, with neither married and still looking for love.

The first episode tells us about Han Mi Mo (played by Jang Nara) who is dumped by her current boyfriend, a famous chef who cheats her with Go Seul Ah (played by Sandara Park from 2NE1) who is pregnant for few months, but as a top actress, Go Seul Ah doesn't want to admit to this relationship and keep rejecting the proposal from her boyfriend. Meanwhile, the reporter from Masspunch, who is actually Song Soo Hyuk (played by Jung Kyung Ho) accidentally saw Mi Mo being dumped at the restaurant and after seeing her run away from the scene, he misunderstood her for wanting to sucide.

That accidental meeting brought them closer to know each other and they found out, actually they are childhood friends who was seperated and once had a stage together as Romeo and Juliet. That stage is the worst memory of Han Mi Mo because Romeo was throwing up when he had to kiss Juliet. Because of that, Han Mi Mom claimed that everytime she dates someone, there is a  fear of being rejected by throwing up when they were kissing.

Because the two of them haven't met for so long, that day, Han Mi Mo who suffers from heartache after being a divorcee, being rejected and disappointed for not being proposed, she asked Soo Hyuk to accompany her for a drink and they ended up getting drunk and the most crazy thing and I guess that will never happen is that, they brought themselves to register their marriage, bought the underwear for wedding night and totally forgot what has happened the next day they wake up completely sober. Is that common in our culture? Well, in whatever cases, that happens there and it's quite funny to see how crazy they can be.

The twist is that, Song Soo Hyuk asked his best friend, Go Hae Joon (played by Kwon Yool) to be witness for their marriage law registration. Go Hae Joon has already fallen in love with Han Mi Mo many years ago since she was a member of Angel Group. Knowing the fact that they are both drunk, wants to cancel their marriage registration and clears up misunderstanding that there is no feeling attached between Soo Hyuk and Mi Mo, he is determined to make Han Mi Mo to be his woman. Anyway, Go Hae Joon is also a divorcee who has been married with a gynecology doctor but broke up because the gynecology doctor feels Go Hae Joon doesn't love her enough.

Han Mi Mo also falls in love with Go Hae Joon's smile and super handsome face. She confessed her feeling first and then got accepted by Go Hae Joon who clears up with Soo Hyuk that Soo Hyuk doesn't have any feeling for Mi Mo. But fate speaks differently for them. She always complains about Soo Hyuk being immature for crushing her date with Hae Joon (well, not speaking how disturbing he is when Han Mi Mo and Go Hae Joon had a movie date and he appears out of nowhere only to disturb them for having a sexual night). But then, one client came to her office, speaking to her how hard it must be for raising a young boy in his early year as a student and how it feels when he doesn't know anything of raising a baby. That itself is the process of becoming mature, since you learn how to be a good father. And yeah, by hearing this reasoning, Mi Mo feels something for Soo Hyuk and Min Woo (Soo Hyuk's adorable son).

Soo Hyuk who is a childhood friend of Mi Mo, besides he also lives next door with his adorable son many times helps Mi Mo in her difficult times. He was worried about her getting sick and being gossiped by netizen for being a third party instead between Go Seul Ah and the famous chef, causing Go Seul Ah to have miscarriaged. He ends up helping her by writing the true version of why Han Mi Mo was actually the victim and Go Seul Ah is the third party, leading Mi Mo to really realize her true feeling for Soo Hyuk and finally she decides to broke up with Hae Joon. During that time, Mi Mo confessed her true feelings for being annoyed on how bad she is to Hae Joon, leading her saying "Please leave me alone" to Soo Hyuk.

Because it is hard even for Soo Hyuk, whether he should confess her true feeling to Mi Mo and broke his friendship with Hae Joon or keep his feeling alone. He decides to leave Korea and goes to US for almost three weeks, leaving Mi Mo alone to reflect on her true feeling. Then, he comes back to get together with her.

I don't know what will happen next, but I guess, there should be some triangle love in which Mi Mo is forced to show her feeling towards Soo Hyuk.

My opinion:
Instead Please Come Back, Mister I guess I prefer One More Happy Ending first because I have been watching it for 12 episode and if the story gets dragged out too much, there is also a possibility that I would quit watching it anymore.

But before that, my first impression for this drama, it's quiet funny to see. It almost feel the same as Drunken To Love You, a taiwanese drama played by Rainie Yang and Joseph Chang, which I know from the very beginning that both of the main OTP will end up together. It's just how it works that make it fun to watch.

Jang Nara looks younger by the years gone by. I guess she stops herself from aging and that's one of the reasons I am watching this drama because she looks so pretty, petite and adroable cute with her flawless acting and stupid look (baboo!). Her fashion is also somewhat I admire the most for her formal winter dress that looks gorgeous and super elegant style. Besides, I also love how cool and charismatic of Baek Da Jung (played by Yoo Da In) who suffers from breast cancer and wanting her husband to love her back but she acts cool whenever her husband is around her.

However, there are some points here that I would like to pick up, which is, the storyline is easily read and this kind of drama I guess won't have a high rating because it's so typical and there is no value added to it. It's so like soap operas whereby we have seen this kind of drama all the times. But, imy, overall, it's pretty entertaining and sweet enough to melt our hearts. Still worth watching it.

Anyway, after Descendant of the Sun airs, this drama has sunked deeply with only 3.8% in rating. So sad, but yeah I am rooting for DotS since it's getting more intense and I like how Song Joong Ki's direct flirting tactics to Song Hye Kyo. Besides with the amount of investment goes to DotS for its amazing location picking and pre-production, it means they give more high quality drama in terms of cinematography and background set (Santorini, Greece).

Quote to share:
Love finds many different ways to beat you down, so when you’re at the end of your rope, there’s nothing left to do but take drastic measures and hope it all works out..

Kim Eun Sook's All Time Favorite Female Lead

Kim Eun Sook's female lead always left a very deep impression on me. Is it because she makes the personality stand out and consistent in the personality chosen for each female lead? I didn't watch City Hall, but there are three women in Kim Eun Sook's story that grabs my attention, one from Secret Garden, A Gentleman's Dignity and the last is Descendant of the Sun. Here's my all time favorite female lead character:

1. Gil Ra Im (played by Ha Ji Won) on Secret Garden

A poor stuntwoman who wants to be martial arts movie director. She grows up with her room-mate after his father's death from saving a young man trapped in the elevator. The young man is eventually Kim Joo Won (played by Hyun Bin). Gil Ra Im is a very tough woman. She is independent and tries her best to be a martial arts actress. Although she is poor, but she holds her dignity not to be distracted by a guy who owns everything. She said, as a woman, she will never walk on a relationship that will only ends up halfway. But in the end, she ends up falling in love with Kim Joo Won because not meeting with him is even harder than being with him and going through the harsh of being poor. She is rough outside, but she's very sweet and kindhearted on the inside. I like how she is not showing such a cutie face in Secret Garden because all the time, K-drama only suggests that woman should only be cute or sweet.

So anyway, Ha Ji Won also played Ariel Lin's character on The Time I Love You as Ha Na in K-remake of In Time With You (Taiwanese 2011 hit drama starring Ariel Line & Bolin Chen). She is gorgeous here with her modern-chic fashion outfit which I like the most!!! But yeah, her character here is kinda gentle which doesn't suit Ariel Lin's trademark as Chen You Qing.

2. Seo Yi Soo (played by Kim Ha Neul) on A Gentleman's Dignity

An ethics school teacher who has a one-sided love towards her bestfriend's boyfriend. She is very strict in class and always tells her student to know what they want to do in life. When it is time for a holiday, she said, no one should study or learn anything, instead just enjoy the vacation and think about what they would want to be in the future. She also has a body like a model and also an amateur baseball referee. Sometimes, she is also awkward in social situation which makes her more adorable.

3. Kang Mo Yeon (played by Song Hye Kyo) on Descendant of the Sun

Kang Mo Yeon's character I guess pretty well almost similar to my character. She is smart, a doctor, open-minded, honest, has integrity, hardworking and sometimes sensitive. My most fave charcater is when she cried after losing the professor's position and have to recite the step-by-step guidance health issues on morning news the next day. It feels crap when all your hardwork was being paid only with a word of rejection.

Besides, I love how open she is when a guy is interested on her. She wants to meet with him, saying "Becoming a soldier is hard, so you must not have girlfriend." is a true confident woman in action. Yeah, now it's not time to drag out confession. If you feel interested, just come and talk about it. She also holds her pride in everything her do, not wanting to gain power by doing things not in a good way. She is also a senstive person, whereby we can see how she reminsced herself of Captain Yoo Shi Jin eight months ago when they first met and how intense the feeling is.

The reason why the character of Kang Mo Yeon is garnering interest lies here as well. She loves her work and confidently expresses her values, instead of just following her romantic whims. While showing strong passion and top-class skills in the surgery room, the fact that she became a doctor because she “performed the best in mathematics out of Korean, English, and math” and says that her “courage lies in working as hard as she is paid” reveals a bit of her practical side.

She is assertive even in her romantic relationship with captain Yoo Si Jin (Song Joong Ki). Instead of depending on him and being swayed by emotions, Kang Mo Yeon is always honest about how she feels. She freely expresses her jealousy by telling Yoo Si Jin that his “choice in restaurants is very ‘masculine’” when he gives a glance to an attractive waitress and her sadness when she learns that Yoo Si Jin would be returning to Korea. While she is attracted to Yoo Si Jin as a man, Mo Yeon doesn’t hide her inner conflict regarding his dangerous occupation as well.

Song Hye Kyo is receiving lots of love because of her character clearly distinct from the sweet, Cinderella-type female individuals commonly seen on TV. Song Hye Kyo is successfully portraying the pride, confidence, and dignity of female leads through the role.

Overall, although you may have seen some of them in other drama, or the story is very typical, but Kim Eun Sook is capable of telling a tightly plotted story, and grounding in a meaningful purpose, In Secret Garden for example. she constructs a story solidly that it can balance a gimmicky Cinderella story with a greater narrative. And it's also her typical to make a protutype of each character personally well to match with the storyline. A very consistent story-writting. Her artwork is my fave so far.

Notes: I also like Cheon Song Yi from My Love from Another Star because Jun Ji Hyun can throw away herself for an acting which is far from being elegant. I like how she got drunk after got heart broken. Super epic scene.

I guess, K-drama has made a lot of improvment in each character potrayal and it leads into a competitive base point on k-drama rating nowadays. Whether you give such a typical drama without some added value or you give a more interesting story to enjoy with. Let's give them the choice.
