Alright, the story seems to be going much for the past four episodes and I am really sorry that I have to post the review regarding Scarlet Heart: Ryeo kinda late. As you see, there are a few dramas at the moment which catch my attention much and based on the time, I just had the chance to watch Scarlet Heart up to Episode 5.
I am so sad to hear the news that the rating for Moon Lovers drops to 5%. Isn't it considered too low? I don't think they really deserves such low rating when the production team did a quite nice job on the story and cinematography? I bet around 7 to 8% is a good number for Moon Lovers, but when they can only reach 5%, I wonder what's wrong with this drama, seriously?
So, Ha Jin now accepts the fact that she should live in Goryeo Dynasty as Hae Soo and she has to adapt with the environment there.
She had an argument with 10th Prince and they both were fighting with each other. Soo manages to hit 10th Prince on the eyes and everyone in the Palace know about the girl who fights with the Prince. She is now famous, even to the King. Same with the original story, because of the fight, 10th Prince assumed that Soo falls in love with him. Since there isn't anyone who is brave enough like her to hit a Prince.
Meanwhile, we now see what happened actually to Wang So (4th Prince). He had scar on his face, which him a bully in the Palace since they all said that 4th Prince has an ugly face. I guess, the scar which his Mother, Queen Yoo gave him, put him as an inferior. Although 4th Prince may be her biological son, he is not considered as hers.
Even the King and the Queen sent him away to Shinju to be adopted by Kang's family, as an adopted son to a Concubine who just lost her own death son. However, the life of 4th Prince in Shinju isn't better compare to how he is treated in his own family. Kang's family take him as the hostage rather than as a son, even they made him starve for days, without no one cares for him.
This time, 4th Prince made a deal with the Crown Prince that he would exchange his position with the Crown Prince on the day of the ghost-ritual performance in return for him to be able to stay in Songak and not return to Shinju.
However, on the day of the performance happened, a group of assassins tried to kill the Crown Prince who wears the mask for the performance and left the scar on 4th Prince's arm. The King demanded to know where the Crown Prince is when he saw that the one who wears the mask is 4th Prince. This hurts 4th Prince even more when the King doesn't even look at him nor care for his injury.
And so, 4th Prince promised to bring back the assassin and he then ran to chase them. On the way of his chasing, Soo saw 4th Prince who ran towards the forest and she followed him. But then, she was captured by one of the assassin whom was chased by 4th Prince. The assassin threatened 4th Prince that he is going to kill Soo and so the 4th Prince told him to do so. As they were negotiating, 8th Prince threw the blade to the assassins head and he died. Soo was freed but she was shocked to know that she was almost killed. She then told 4th Prince and 8th Prince that she saw a group of men who were killed in the forest when she followed 4th Prince.
It seems the leader was the one who killed them off and the leader wore a fur coat. This information turns out to be really important as 4th Prince noticed that the leader was actually his own older brother, 3th Prince who accomplice with his own Mother, Queen Yoo, to kill the Crown Prince. So that it would allow 3th Prince to be throne as the Crown Prince. I never expect that Queen Yoo will be portray as someone who is so cruel, even to his son. It's such a shame that Queen Yoo doesn't even consider 4th Prince to be her son. Even she is not worried when 4th Prince was almost died.
In C-version, the Empress Xiaogongren (4th Prince biological mother) is cold towards 4th Prince, because she was originally a court attendant from the Manchu Uya clan. Around the time when Yinzhen (4th Prince) was born, his mother was of a low status and did not have the right to raise her own children. For most of his childhood, Yinzhen was raised by Noble Consort Tong, the daughter of Tong Guowei, the Kangxi Emperor's maternal uncle and an eminent official in the early part of the Kangxi Emperor's reign. She died when Yinzhen was just 9 years old. After the birth of more children, Yinzhen's mother was promoted to a pin and then to a fei and became known as defei or "Virtuous Consort." However, 'defei' refused to raise her first son at that time. Therefore, Kangxi Emperor raised Yinzhen by himself in short period. Thus, the relationship between 4th Prince and Queen Mother is not as harmonious as she is with the 14th Prince.

And so, 4th Prince was so desperate that he was not needed by his family, even his own mother. In his desperation, Soo was there and she comforted him, even noticed that he was hurt. Soo also is not afraid of the 4th Prince since 4th Prince saved her many times, although there were times when Soo was scared that 4th Prince might really kill her.
But after running into him many times, she then knows that 4th Prince is just someone who is hurt many times.
When the King allows 4th Prince to stay in Songak, inside the Palace, Soo told him to eat well, to sleep well and avoid bad dreams as much as he can. 4th Prince seems to be moved by Soo as he smiles when he looks at her.
The romance may not only bloom for 4th Prince and Soo. Instead, the longing grows between Soo and 8th Prince too. It turns out that Soo's sister died because she is sick and she asked the Queen, to allow Soo to get married to 8th Princ without Soo nor 8th Prince know about it. Soo knows her position, that she shouldn't hurt his sister, but her feeling goes to the way her logic doesn't say so. She is moved many times by 8th Prince kindness and patience.
It may not easy for Soo to adapt to Goryeo, as she is shocked to know that in that era, having sword in their everyday life is a normal thing, and so 8th Prince comforted her many times and that's where the romance begins.
Up to this point, I think IU has been a character which has space for improvements and I guess she is getting better each episodes and I love her dress more, specially in the winter. She is really cute and super pretty. The story seems to move faster than what I imagine.
In episode 5, Soo's sister has died and that's too fast. In the original version, Ruo Lan indeed died, but she doesn't have feelings for 8th Prince since she was in love with another man before she gets married to the 8th Prince. But here, Soo's sister loves 8th Prince and that's where I think there won't be anymore romantic scene between Soo and 8th Prince because Soo is someone from the future. She knows that being with 8th Prince, a husband for her cousin may not be appropriate to do, specially when her cousin loves him with all her heart.
I dunno what will happen in the future as Soo is not someone who knows the history so much. How is she going to know that 4th Prince is Gwangjong then? How the political struggles will start then? Because in C-version, Ruo Xi knows about the history and has been trying to avoid saying anything that will change the history. Although because of her, the history starts the way it is. But here, how they will go with the story then? I am really curious. Although Moon Lovers is far to be compared with Love in the Moonlight, but I guess, I am quite curious as to how creative the production team is. Hopefully they would make to 8% in rating since Lee Jun Ki and Kang Ha Nul have been pretty good in their acting.
