While You Were Sleeping Episode 1 & 2 First Impression

Finally I have time to watch 'While You Were Sleeping' and it's a bit confusing yet surprising for me! I never thought they successfully make the premier looks so promising and yet very surprising twist. LOL. It's a bit risky actually to do the same sequence for premier episode, but with a surprising twist, it summarizes and leave a big impression on how the drama will go on.

To be honest, I am quite afraid as how Suzy will do her acting in this drama, specially being compared to a famous lead actor, Lee Jong Suk. I still remember their competition on Wednesday-Thrusday drama between Uncontrollably Fond and W:Two World. Though I end up siding more with Uncontrollably Fond, but I found that W is such an amazing work up until the twisting plot. It's such a disappointed ending in my own personal opinion, though Lee Jong Sok is such a professional actor and can pull out every character he plays.

However, as I watched the premiere, I would say they both fill each other perfectly. Both looking good, though I swear why Lee Jong Suk has to act like a narcissist, it gives me a strong impression that he's kinda on feminime side. But, whatever, as long as the story goes smoothly. I wonder whether this drama will end up in a good way or not, but somehow with the childhood cliche, I guess, we would have some romance on the other side :D Maybe both of them would work together to challenge the future.

One more thing I would stand applause is how strong the advertisement for this drama. It's so strong that it builds impression that Suzy is the one who owns the ability to see the future, whil eventually in first episode, we know from the flashback that it was Lee Jong Suk who posseses the ability. Maybe it was coincidental or whatever they call, but somehow they have such conncection.

Curious enough? Better check out the episode. Never gonna let you close to the spoiler XD

What Would Suzy Does If She Can Predict The Future?

Suzy effortlessly showed off a natural side through her latest pictorial with High Cut magazine. During her interview, she talked about her character Hong Joo in the upcoming drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title).

The actress expressed, “I was No Eul last year because of ‘Uncontrollably Fond,’ but I’m completely immersed in Hong Joo these days. Since Hong Joo’s more feminine than No Eul, I’ve actually become more feminine in real life.”

In the drama, Hong Joo has dreams that predict the future. When asked whether she would’ve wanted to change any parts of her past if she had this psychic ability back then, Suzy answered, “I’m not happy with all the choices I’ve made until now. I do want to go back and live out those regretful moments, but at the same time, I think it’ll be tiring. I usually tell myself not to dwell on the decisions I make regardless of the outcome.”

She then added, “If I had the ability to predict the future, I would want to know what the viewership ratings will be for ‘While You Were Asleep.’ I’m most curious as to whether the drama will do well.”

I am anticipating While You Were Asleep so much! Hopefully she had done even better :)

While You Were Asleep Wrapped Up Filming

Suzy and Lee Jong Suk’s upcoming SBS pre-produced drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title) is wrapping up filming and preparing to air in September.

According to a source from the drama industry, the drama will air after “Into the New World” (tentative title), the follow up to “Suspicious Partner.” Because both of the previous dramas are 20-episode projects, “While You Were Asleep” will premiere late-September. On the other hand, “While You Were Asleep” will be a 16-episode project.

The source added, “We are currently in the last stages of filming. We encountered some delays after beginning to film in the beginning of the year, but we are planning on wrapping everything up by the middle of this month.”

To clarify any possible confusion, the source explained that “Temperature of Love” (tentative title), the drama that was previously reported to be the follow up to “Into the New World,” was moved to the Monday-Tuesday slot.

“While You Were Asleep” tells the story of a woman (Suzy) who can foresee adverse events through dreams and a prosecutor (Lee Jong Suk) who does everything he can to prevent those events from happening. It was written by Park Hye Ryun, the screenwriter of “Dream High,” “I Hear Your Voice,” “Pinocchio,” and more. As both actors have experience working with the screenwriter, many are looking forward to the synergy they will be creating this time around as well.

Lee Jong Suk’s character Jung Jae Chan is an emotionless and unsociable prosecutor. He always placed last in class during his middle school days, but he works hard to live up to his father’s expectations.

Suzy will take on the role of Nam Hong Joo, a jobless homebody who rarely leaves her house. Ever since she was little, events from her dreams happened in real life, making her always feel anxious. She considers it best to avoid the adverse events she foresaw in her dreams because she believes she can’t change them.

Will you be watching this drama?

While You Were Sleeping Raise Much Expectations

SBS seems confident that its upcoming drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title) will be a great project to look forward to.

During a dinner meeting with press, a representative from SBS, Lee Yong Suk, said, “I don’t know how the viewership ratings will be, but the work will certainly be something that is talked about.”

He said, “The combination of the video, staff, actors, and script are so great. We were watching the first and second episodes and it felt like a dream. We’ve filmed up to the sixth episode now and it’s turning out just fine.”

He complimented the actors as well, saying, “It feels like Lee Jong Suk found clothes that fit him. He’s not awkward and there’s nothing rough [about his acting]. Suzy also has stable acting. I personally praised her and told her, ‘good job.’ [The acting] won’t be a problem.”

Meanwhile, “While You Were Asleep” is a drama that tells the story of a woman who can foresee adverse events before they happen, as well as a prosecutor who tries to prevent those events from happening. It is set to air this September.

With this certainty from SBS, this drama gain much expecations before it's airing date!

Suzy in While You Were Asleep

Suzy showed off her new look for fashion magazine Dazed and talked about her role in the highly anticipated drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title).

This was Suzy’s first time shooting a pictorial with her new hair. She commented, “It was fun posing for photos with my short hair. Photo shoots with Dazed are always exciting to me. Instead of trying to look pretty, I wanted to show a more mischievous and natural look with my messy hair and minimal makeup.”

She then dished on the details of her psychic character in “While You Were Asleep” She explained, “My character Hong Joo thinks she’s the best so she basically just lives for herself. She’s a very cheerful and loud person, but she becomes helpless whenever she has bad dreams that predict the future. However, once she meets Jae Chan [played by Lee Jong Suk], she gains hope and becomes much more active [in helping others].”

Suzy still looks so beautiful even though she cut her hair short and with minimal makeup makes her look like a true National First Love. I am quite anticipating While You Were Asleep or While You Were Sleeping fairly enough. Though somehow I kinda doubt the description of the character, but since it's Suzy and Lee Jong Suk, who is quite well known in the drama world, I hope the writer-nim can be detailed enough to explore each character, so that that drama would be as popular as Strong Woman Do Bong Soon! Btw, this Hong Joo reminds me of Bong Soon so much (helping others?)

What do you think?

Suzy and Lee Jong Suk Spotted Filiming 'While You Were Sleeping'

Suzy and Lee Jong Suk are spotted filming their new SBS drama, 'While You Were Sleeping'. They definitely make a smart-looking couple.

Currently, several photos of Suzy and Lee Jong Suk getting friendly and close at the drama set are roaming the web. It's reported that the photos were taken at a cafe in Gyeonggi-do on March 18. Suzy fixes Lee Jong Suk’s hair as they sit in a cafe, and displays a new short hairstyle. Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk looks dandy dressed up in a suit-and-tie along with a different parting in his own hair. The actors were also seen filming at a law office located in the same city.

'While You Were Sleeping', written by the scriptwriter of 'Pinocchio' and 'I Hear Your Voice', depicts the story about a woman who can see the future in her dreams. Lee Jong Suk is playing a prosecutor who helps the woman prevent unfortunate events and accidents from happening. It's scheduled to air in the second half of 2017.

Suzy's Character in the Drama Reminds Herself

Suzy revealed her acting plans for the future and more in the latest issue of 'Cosmopolitan Hong Kong'. Modeling jewelry from the french brand didier dubot, Suzy fits right in with the lovely, feminine concept.

The idol-turned-actress was asked which role she played she most related to, and she commented, "In the aspect that I worked really hard to become a singer, I think Go Hye Mi, who reminds me of myself before I debuted. I think a bit of the human Suzy melted into the role of No Eul from the recently finished KBS drama 'Uncontrollably Fond'. People always tell me that the roles I play are similar to myself. I try to find something I can relate to with the characters."

When asked about her favorite movie, Suzy answered, "I would pick 'Silver Linings Playbook' starring Jennifer Lawrence. It made me think that I'd want to play a role like that someday. I'm doing my best to read a lot of books from different genres these days."

Suzy has been cast for next year drama, 'While You Were Sleeping' starring lead actor Lee Jong Suk. I would be very glad to see her again on screen!

Suzy Rocks for Christmas

After finishing Uncontrollably Fond, Suzy has been active in advertisment and I'm glad she's back as the Queen of CF. She's so pretty till I have no words to describe her.

But with the 2017 upcoming drama of her, 'While You Were Sleeping' with Lee Jong Suk, I think it's quite promising. Hopefully the writer won't disappoint us like what Uncontrollably Fond did to me. I thought it's going to be a romantic comedy when it turned out to be a melodrama, which sucks a lot of my energy for the sake of Kim Woo Bin.

Suzy Confirms To Star in 2017 Drama 'While You Were Sleeping'

I'm so exicted to annouce that Upcoming Drama for 2017 has line up one of my favorite k-drama lead lady! Bae Suzy has confirmed to star alongside rom-com King, Lee Jong Suk for 'While You Were Sleeping'. It's about a woman who can see unfortunate events that will befall others in her dreams, and a prosecutor who does everything he can to prevent the woman’s dreams from coming true.

This is Suzy’s first time working with writer Park Hye Ryun in roughly six years, after her debut drama “Dream High” in 2011. According to the production comapny, iHQ, the drama will premiere on SBS next year, and will be directed by PD Oh Choong Hwan, who previously worked on “Doctors” and “My Love From the Star.” Filming will begin early next year, but specifics of the airing schedule have yet to be determined.

Every single Suzy's leading male is a fave of mine in the drama land, from Kim Soo Hyun in Dream High, Lee Seung Gi in Gu Family Book and Kim Woo Bin in Uncontrollably Fond. Not to forget that she's dating that gorgeous Lee Min Ho in real life. And now, she's paired with Lee Jong Suk. I am very excited to see her performance and improvement. It's really a good chance for her ad hopefully she will learn, practice and improve her acting skill throughout the drama ~ Fighting!
