Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won & Jang Dong Gun for Asadal

tvN drama “Asadal” (working title) has confirmed its leading actors!

It was revealed earlier in the year that Song Joong Ki, Kim Ji Won, and Jang Dong Gun are in talks to star in the drama.

On July 26, it was announced that their casting is officially confirmed.

“Asadal” is a fantasy period drama about conflict, harmony, and love that take place in a fictional land. It will be written by Kim Young Hyun and Park Sang Yeon, who have worked on popular historical dramas including “The Great Queen Seon Deok,” “Tree with Deep Roots,” and “Six Flying Dragons,” while the PD (producing director) Kim Won Suk has led “Incomplete Life,” “Signal,” and “My Ahjussi.”

Jang Dong Gun plays Ta Gon, a war hero that leads the city to victory. Song Joong Ki is Eun Sum, who was born with the energy of a blue star that brings disaster, while Kim Ji Won will play Tan Ya, who was also born with the destiny of the same star.

“Asadal” is set to premiere on tvN in early 2019.

A Quick Peek at Upcoming Drama "Mr. Sunshine" By Kim Eun Sook

On February 15, tvN’s upcoming drama “Mr. Sunshine,” starring Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Ri, Yoo Yeon Seok, and Byun Yo Han, released a dramatic and impressive trailer.

“Mr. Sunshine” is written by Kim Eun Sook and director Lee Eung Bok, who previously created the popular dramas “Descendants of the Sun” and “Goblin” together. It tells the story of a Korean man who returns to his homeland as an American soldier after leaving for the United States on a warship in 1871.

The trailer is both awe-inspiring and tragic with scenes of a brutal war, mourning families, and dying soldiers. The four leading actors make an appearance, with Lee Byung Hun taking the role of Eugene Choi, a marine officer who was a slave by birth while Kim Tae Ri plays Go Ae Shin, the esteemed daughter of a nobleman. Yoo Yeon Seok plays Goo Dong Mae, the president of the Black Dragon Society, and Byun Yo Han plays Kim Hee Sung, who is Go Ae Shin’s fiancé.

Recently, it was confirmed that Kim Min Jung will join the cast as Hee Na, the owner of the hotel Glory.

Park Shin Hye & Hyun Bin Offered Lead Role in SBS Healing Drama

On January 17, industry representatives reported that the actress has been cast as the female lead of upcoming SBS drama “Yeowoo Gaksibyeol” (romanized title). In response, her agency revealed that she has received the offer, but her appearance is not yet confirmed. She is currently waiting for the script.

“Yeowoo Gaksibyeol” is a melodrama that tells the story of a man and woman who meet in Seoul and help each other heal their pains as they experience music, food, and people. Park Shin Hye has been cast as the female lead Seo Hye Won, who was left alone in the world at the age of 18 when her father passed away while trying to save someone.

The drama is written by Kang Eun Kyung, the writer of “Romantic Doctor Kim” and “Gu Family Book.” It will be directed by Shin Woo Chul, who previously led “Secret Garden,” “A Gentleman’s Dignity,” and “Gu Family Book.”

“Yeowoo Gaksibyeol” is expected to air in the second half of 2018 via SBS.

I would like to see Hyun Bin on screen! It's been quite long after the mild disappointment in Hyde, Jekly & I few years ago with Han Ji Min. It's not because he is not good, but I guess the storyline and the writing makes it hard to hit the games. But now, it's a good time to hit the screen again after the successful of Secret Garden and gain the international recognition again with Secret Garden PD as well. I hope this drama would be the best choice for Hyun Bin's comeback.

Considering the pairing with Park Shin Hye, it's gonna be worth waiting for. You know, Park Shin Hye was recognized for her acting skill in Doctors and it's gonna be awesome if they both could make it.

Meanwhile, I was also thinking about Hyun Bin co-star Ha Ji Won from Secret Garden. She seriously need to work again with Kim Eun Sook or at least choose a good project & pairing to gain the recognition again. It's been quite a while, start from the disappoinment in the remake of In Time With You (not because of her character, but because of Lee Jin Wook) and this time, Hospital Ship is way too long maybe, even though Ha Ji Won stands out amazingly. Maybe it's just the Korean reception is not that good, or timing factor in airing makes it hard. It's hard nowadays to achieve high rating, unless a weekend drama like My Golden Life. Park Si Hoo is really lucky. LOL.

Upcoming Drama: Revolutionary Love - Choi Si Won & Kang So Ra

Romantic comedy drama is on the way to make a comeback for fall season! It's gonna be awesome because there were so many k-dramas around this month and your time should be filled with much LOVE for fall season. I am so excited for this fall season dramas and cannot wait for winter and new year as soon as possible.

Here were are, Revolutionary Love starring Choi Si Won (She Was Pretty) and Kang So Ra (Misaeng). It's a tvn dramas which tells a story of  a chaebol with a hidden identity and a hardworking but dirt-poor heroine. Choi Si Won plays the chaebol heir who’s out to prove that he’s more than just his family name. His leading lady will be played by Kang So Ra, and his secretary-cum-shadow who dreams of surpassing him will be played by Gong Myung (Bride of the Water God 2017). Third-generation chaebol Siwon disguises himself as an unemployed slacker, but having been spoon-fed his entire life, he obviously possesses zero survival skills. He moves into Kang So Ra’s neighborhood, where all the working-hard-but-getting-nowhere youths live in their tiny one-room apartments.

In the teaser, we see that Si Won has no relevant work experience or certificates, but he has the one thing that is worth more than both: a powerful family. It’s written on his resume that his father is the CEO and his brother is the general manager for the company they’re all applying for, Kangsu Group. Despite his complete naivety at basic life skills and his narcissism, he has a bright personality, which will make it hard to hate him.

On the other hand, we have Kang So Ra’s resume, which is filled with a variety of certificates—everything from farm technician to food manufacturing. However, the actual experience she has is only through part-time jobs like waitressing and working at a construction site. Despite her chock-full resume, she’s still a full-time part-timer. In her voiceover portion, she says, “People like us who have nothing must keep our heads on straight and live with a determined mindset.”

Gong Myung is both Siwon’s best friend and the responsible one who gets him out of trouble every time. He has a first-class resume, having aced language tests despite never having stepped foot in a different country. His work experiences are also stellar, showing that he works at the secretarial office for Kangsu Group, but it looks like he’s also suffering on the inside due to his low family status. In previous synopses, his father was said to be the chauffeur of Siwon’s father, and that he strives to break out of the “servant” class and be on equal terms with Siwon. He closes the teaser by saying “I will endure whatever insults come my way.”

I am pretty satisfied with the casting as Choi Si Won is a perfect fit for comedy drama. He has those skills to make himself pretty amusing to watch. Meanwhile, Kang So Ra remains low profile even though she dates a famous actor, Hyun Bin. It would be interesting to see how she will manage to do her acting without bringing the dating rumors. Actually it's a bit surprising for me to hear that she dates Hyun Bin as they are not even that close. But who knows, because fate brings them together, even after years Hyun Bin has broke up with Song Hye Kyo (and she is getting married soon at the end of this month). Well, anyway, both actors have such credible experience and I am quite looking forward to see their acting.

Park Hyung Sik To Star in Upcoming SBS Romance Drama

After finishing popular romantic comedy drama, Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, it was reported earlier that Park Hyung Sik had been cast in an upcoming SBS romance drama “Temperature of Love” (tentative title).

On June 28, the actor’s agency, United Artist Agency (UAA), released an official statement and said, “It is not true that Park Hyung Sik has been cast in ‘Temperature of Love.’ He hasn’t even received a synopsis so he’s not even considering the role currently.”

Previously, it was reported that actress Seo Hyun Jin was considering the female lead role in the drama and her agency confirmed today that the actress was still looking over the offer. “Temperature of Love” is set to air after “Manipulation” (tentative title), which is the drama that is slated to air after SBS’s currently airing drama “My Sassy Girl.”

Aww, so sad, I was hoping that he would do any drama soon after Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. But well, maybe he wants to rest a bit and looks for another potential drama, rather than giving a try to all drama. In any case, we would love to see him in another romantic drama, uri Min Min :)

JYJ’s Kim Jaejoong And UEE Confirmed As Leads In Upcoming Time Slip Drama - Manhole

After UEE rejected offer to star in weekend family drama with Park Si Hoo, On June 23, it was confirmed that JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong and UEE have both been cast as leads in KBS’s upcoming time-slip drama called “Manhole” (tentative title).

KBS’s “Manhole” is a comedy drama about a man who goes back in time to stop a marriage from happening in the present. Kim Jaejoong will be playing the lead male role of Bong Pil, who is a character that has been studying for the civil servant exam for three years and is the neighborhood’s token unemployed person. He’s an immature character who doesn’t feel the need to grow up and depends heavily on his father, who is a postmaster.

UEE will be taking on the lead female character of Kang Su Jin, a character that has built a metaphorical wall between herself and Bong Pil for 18 years; however, as her marriage date draws closer, her feelings waver as she begins to see Bong Pil’s love for her in a different light.

“Manhole” is set to begin airing after “Queen for 7 Days” comes to an end.

Gonna be so excited to see this two! They are such a good-looking couple on set then :)

What Would Suzy Does If She Can Predict The Future?

Suzy effortlessly showed off a natural side through her latest pictorial with High Cut magazine. During her interview, she talked about her character Hong Joo in the upcoming drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title).

The actress expressed, “I was No Eul last year because of ‘Uncontrollably Fond,’ but I’m completely immersed in Hong Joo these days. Since Hong Joo’s more feminine than No Eul, I’ve actually become more feminine in real life.”

In the drama, Hong Joo has dreams that predict the future. When asked whether she would’ve wanted to change any parts of her past if she had this psychic ability back then, Suzy answered, “I’m not happy with all the choices I’ve made until now. I do want to go back and live out those regretful moments, but at the same time, I think it’ll be tiring. I usually tell myself not to dwell on the decisions I make regardless of the outcome.”

She then added, “If I had the ability to predict the future, I would want to know what the viewership ratings will be for ‘While You Were Asleep.’ I’m most curious as to whether the drama will do well.”

I am anticipating While You Were Asleep so much! Hopefully she had done even better :)

Jo Jung Suk To Star in New Romantic Fantasy Drama

Actor Jo Jung Suk may be starring in KBS’s upcoming drama “Two Cops” (literal title).

On June 14, his agency Culture Depot confirmed the news that he is considering the role of a homicide detective who has a sense of justice but also has the soul of a sleazy swindler.

“Two Cops” has been written by the winner of a KBS screenwriting competition last year. It is a fantasy romantic drama that tells the love story between a detective and a cheeky female reporter.

Upcoming Drama: "Black" Starring Song Seung Hoon & Go Ara

Song Seung Hoon and Go Ara are in talks for an upcoming OCN drama called “Black.”

On June 8, both of their agencies stated that the two actors are currently looking over the roles.

“Black” is about a grim reaper who gets erased from the memories of the world for breaking the rules and falling in love with a woman after borrowing a human’s body. It is set to air after the upcoming drama “Save Me.”

I am not excited that much to see Go Ara starring in this drama. Well, she is so beautiful but I am quite disappointed with her acting in Hwarang:The Warriors last time with Park Seo Joon. Hopefully, she can pull up her character well in this drama!

While You Were Asleep Wrapped Up Filming

Suzy and Lee Jong Suk’s upcoming SBS pre-produced drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title) is wrapping up filming and preparing to air in September.

According to a source from the drama industry, the drama will air after “Into the New World” (tentative title), the follow up to “Suspicious Partner.” Because both of the previous dramas are 20-episode projects, “While You Were Asleep” will premiere late-September. On the other hand, “While You Were Asleep” will be a 16-episode project.

The source added, “We are currently in the last stages of filming. We encountered some delays after beginning to film in the beginning of the year, but we are planning on wrapping everything up by the middle of this month.”

To clarify any possible confusion, the source explained that “Temperature of Love” (tentative title), the drama that was previously reported to be the follow up to “Into the New World,” was moved to the Monday-Tuesday slot.

“While You Were Asleep” tells the story of a woman (Suzy) who can foresee adverse events through dreams and a prosecutor (Lee Jong Suk) who does everything he can to prevent those events from happening. It was written by Park Hye Ryun, the screenwriter of “Dream High,” “I Hear Your Voice,” “Pinocchio,” and more. As both actors have experience working with the screenwriter, many are looking forward to the synergy they will be creating this time around as well.

Lee Jong Suk’s character Jung Jae Chan is an emotionless and unsociable prosecutor. He always placed last in class during his middle school days, but he works hard to live up to his father’s expectations.

Suzy will take on the role of Nam Hong Joo, a jobless homebody who rarely leaves her house. Ever since she was little, events from her dreams happened in real life, making her always feel anxious. She considers it best to avoid the adverse events she foresaw in her dreams because she believes she can’t change them.

While You Were Sleeping Raise Much Expectations

SBS seems confident that its upcoming drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title) will be a great project to look forward to.

During a dinner meeting with press, a representative from SBS, Lee Yong Suk, said, “I don’t know how the viewership ratings will be, but the work will certainly be something that is talked about.”

He said, “The combination of the video, staff, actors, and script are so great. We were watching the first and second episodes and it felt like a dream. We’ve filmed up to the sixth episode now and it’s turning out just fine.”

He complimented the actors as well, saying, “It feels like Lee Jong Suk found clothes that fit him. He’s not awkward and there’s nothing rough [about his acting]. Suzy also has stable acting. I personally praised her and told her, ‘good job.’ [The acting] won’t be a problem.”

Meanwhile, “While You Were Asleep” is a drama that tells the story of a woman who can foresee adverse events before they happen, as well as a prosecutor who tries to prevent those events from happening. It is set to air this September.

With this certainty from SBS, this drama gain much expecations before it's airing date!

Upcoming Drama: Circle - Two Worlds Connected

tvN’s very first sci-fi drama “Circle: Two Worlds Connected” released some more stills of its characters.

The new stills show Yeo Jin Goo and Gong Seung Yoon sitting in front of their laptops and looking like determined college students.

The next still shows Yeo Jin Goo gazing at Gong Seung Yeon in the school library.

The two characters in the drama will try to uncover the truth behind some mysterious deaths. “Circle” will simultaneously take place in 2017 and 2037. Yeo Jin Goo and Gong Seung Yoon will be showing off their chemistry in “Part One: Beta Project,” which is set in 2017.

The drama will air its first episode on May 22 at 11 p.m. KST. So excited! Feels like W:Two World. I just hope that the writer won't drag the storyline just to finish the whole episode.

Fight My Way Released Official Poster

You can see the drama's 4 leads - Park Seo Joon, Kim Ji Won, Ahn Jae Hong, and Song Ha Yoon - smiling triumphantly dressed in pink suits, as well as looking off into the distance in denim blues (except Song Ha Yoon, who goes with a pink dress). 

The first poster depicts the 4 characters' childish, liberal sides, while the second poster reflects on how 4 children who used to dream of becoming admirable adults in the past grew up to be just regular adults.

Bickering besties Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won for Fight My Way

With these two leads, I’m not surprised that we’re in for something cute. The first teaser is out for KBS’s upcoming rom-com Fight My Way, Park Seo Joon (Hwarang) and Kim Ji Won (Descendant From the Sun) star as lifelong friends who specialize in tormenting each other, a dynamic that’s bound to bring on the laughs. And if we’re lucky, it’ll also bring crackling chemistry in a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance.

The coming-of-age drama is about young adults with third-rate specs just struggling to survive, and the blossoming romance between two immature friends whose childish dynamic hasn’t changed despite reaching adulthood. They tease each other relentlessly, but are also the first to defend their best friend against anyone else.

Park Seo Joon’s character is an aspiring Taekwondo athlete described as a teenager in the body of a man, and Kim Ji Won plays an aspiring news announcer with no filter and a sassy attitude. 

In the show’s first teaser, our two main characters smile for the camera happily, but it hardly takes a few seconds before they start a fight. Kim Ji Won shoves her microphone and script at Park Seo Joon, while he starts tossing parts of his Taekwondo uniform at her. Well if your idea of fighting is undressing, by all means, carry on.

She quickly gains the upper hand with a chokehold, and the whole thing devolves into an embarrassing hair-pulling match. The best part: Once they’ve got their jackets off, we discover that they’re wearing matching couple tees. I think I’m going to like this one.

The fight begins in May following Perfect Wife on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Upcoming Drama: Fight My Way First Still Cut

After hit drama Descendant of the Sun, Kim Ji Won was finally offered as the female lead in KBS2 drama Fight My Way, together with Park Seo Joon who just finished youth romance historical drama in Hwarang (starring Go Ara and Park Hyung Sik also)

'Fight My Way' is a growth romance drama about youths today who lack the specifications society deems "good enough" to be successful, but who still choose to live their lives their own ways. It's set to air some time in May!

Let's see, Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won, turned into a blue-clad, currently-just-friends couple in their first still cut!

Park Seo Joon will play the role of Ko Dong Man and Kim Ji Won in the role of Choi Ae Ra are just-friend characters who fight constantly when the two are involved, but once a third party gets in their way, they're quick to watch each other's backs. How will this romance-less duo go from friends to lovers? 

Compared to Go Ara, I think I personally like Kim Ji Won better in terms of acting. It's true that Go Ara is so pretty and beautiful, yet, her acting seems to be constant without changes in expression and voice tone. Waiting to see this drama excitedly ~ Maybe gonna do a review and recap for each episode!

Suzy in While You Were Asleep

Suzy showed off her new look for fashion magazine Dazed and talked about her role in the highly anticipated drama “While You Were Asleep” (tentative title).

This was Suzy’s first time shooting a pictorial with her new hair. She commented, “It was fun posing for photos with my short hair. Photo shoots with Dazed are always exciting to me. Instead of trying to look pretty, I wanted to show a more mischievous and natural look with my messy hair and minimal makeup.”

She then dished on the details of her psychic character in “While You Were Asleep” She explained, “My character Hong Joo thinks she’s the best so she basically just lives for herself. She’s a very cheerful and loud person, but she becomes helpless whenever she has bad dreams that predict the future. However, once she meets Jae Chan [played by Lee Jong Suk], she gains hope and becomes much more active [in helping others].”

Suzy still looks so beautiful even though she cut her hair short and with minimal makeup makes her look like a true National First Love. I am quite anticipating While You Were Asleep or While You Were Sleeping fairly enough. Though somehow I kinda doubt the description of the character, but since it's Suzy and Lee Jong Suk, who is quite well known in the drama world, I hope the writer-nim can be detailed enough to explore each character, so that that drama would be as popular as Strong Woman Do Bong Soon! Btw, this Hong Joo reminds me of Bong Soon so much (helping others?)

Upcoming Drama: My Sassy Girl - Joo Won & Oh Yeon Seo

Joo Won and Oh Yeon Seo are a lovely Joseon dynasty couple for the historical drama remake of 'My Sassy Girl'!

The drama will tell the story of Joseon's finest young man Kyeon Woo (Joo Won), who is also a teacher to the crown prince. Opposite him is the bright and lively princess Hye Myung (Oh Yeon Seo), a love interest who is comical and lovable because of it. 

CNBLUE's Jungshin will also star in the drama as Kang Joon Young, an official in the ministry of supervision, while opposite him will be actress Kim Yoon Hye as Jung Da Yeon, a woman in love with Joon Young. 

Filmed 100% prior to its broadcast, 'My Sassy Girl' will premiere after currently airing Mon-Tues drama 'Whisper' in May. However, as you might know, Joo Won would enlist on May 2017. Thus, this might be his last drama before entering the military and see you again after two years ~

Park Hyung Sik signs with United Artists Agency

Park Hyung Sik has officially signed with United Artists Agency (UAA).

He had already been rumored to be signing with the agency, after reports about meeting with them. Last month, the agency denied that anything had been confirmed, but now it seems Hyungsik will really be starting anew with UAA.

UAA currently houses actors such as Song Hye Kyo and Yoo Ah In. Good luck to Hyungsik in his new home!

I am so glad that he finally make a step out from his comfort zone! With such actress like Song Hye Kyo, now he is exposed more to the acting world. Rather than having him as a singer and dancer, I am so glad that he's into acting more, hopefully we can see Park Hyung Sik in more dramas in the upcoming future ~

Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won Script Reading for 'Fight My Way'

Upcoming KBS2 Mon-Tues drama 'Fight My Way' (formerly known as 'Ssam My Way') held a script reading with its loaded cast!

Actors Park Seo Joon, Kim Ji Won, Ahn Jae Hong, Song Ha Yoon, Kim Sung Oh, Choi Woo Sik, and more gathered and had a blast reading through the script. 

In the drama, Park Seo Joon will be playing the role of Go Dong Man, while Kim Ji Won will be in the role of Choi Ae Ra. The two develop from longtime close friends to a romantic relationship, all the while telling stories of growth and success among today's youth.

Are you excited for 'Fight My Way'?

I am not excited as I expect it to be, not because Park Seo Joon and Kim Ji Won are not good, but because I just want to keep my expectation just right (remember about Uncontrollably Fond - which KBS had purposely advertised it as a romantic-comedy drama which turns out to be a totally melodrama). Park Seo Joon hits his peak nowadays. Even after finishing Hwarang: The Beginning with Go Ara, he still chose to work another project while the timing is right. 

In Hwarang, Park Seo Joon is truly a good actor, he has that kind of strong leadership and manly vibes around him, which makes him charming in his own way. Though, I decided to watch Hwarang just because of Park Hyung Sik. Honestly speaking, I would say it is a waste of his talent when he filmed Hwarang with Go Ara because I just don't see the chemistry between them. I know Go Ara is beautiful but sadly, her character there is just so-normal-girl without something that would spark the interets of the viewer. 

However, this time, it's all different when you had Kim Ji Won as his pair. Both of them wil surely shines in their own way and I believe that Kim Ji Won and Park Seo Jun would be able to pull off the character with notes, the written of their character is explained well by the writer. 

Ha Ji Won Currently Considering Starring Role In Upcoming Medical Drama

Actress Ha Ji Won is in talks to appear in an upcoming MBC drama!

A source from the actress’s agency revealed the news on March 3, stating that she had “received an offer to appear in ‘Hospital Ship (literal title)’ and is in the middle of reviewing it.” They also added that the drama is only one of the projects she is currently considering.

The drama will be written around a ship that provides medical services to island villages. According to reports, Ha Ji Won was offered the part of resident surgeon Song Eun Jae. If she accepts the offer, it will be her first in drama appearance in two years, her last being the 2015 SBS drama “The Time I’ve Loved You”

“Hospital Ship” will be produced by “Start Again” producer Park Jae Bum and written by screenwriter Yoon Sun Joo, who previously worked on “Secret Door” and “Hwang Jin Yi.” It is currently scheduled to begin airing once “Ruler – Master of the Mask” concludes this July.
