Pengalaman Membuat Visa Turis New Zealand

Hi semuanya, 

Saya mau berbagi cerita pengalaman membuat visa New Zealand melalui VFS Global. Rencana liburan ke New Zealand bagi saya cukup mendadak. Sejujurnya saya lumayan takut juga karena kalau menyangkut visa, lebih baik jauh-jauh hari di planning ya. Jadi menurut saya, jika ada yang mau apply visa ke negera manapun, kalau bisa planning dari jauh - jauh hari. Kebetulan saya harus apply visa New Zealand dalam waktu yang singkat. Data yang diperlukan tidak serumit visa Australia, berikut data-data yang dibutuhkan:

1. Formulir yang sudah diisi lengkap. Formulir bisa didownload dari website VFS Global, atau bisa didownload di sini. Saya mengunakan form INZ1189 khusus untuk Tourist Visa, bisa di cek disini (form INZ1189)

2. Dua lembar pas foto 3.5×4.5 cm terbaru (kurang dari 6 bulan), berwarna, ukuran passport, latar belakang sebaiknya plain-colored (bukan warna putih). Saya sendiri menggunakan latar belakang berwarna abu-abu muda. Untuk lebih detail seperti apa foto yang diterima oleh kedutaan, bisa dicek disini

3. Passport yang masih berlaku sebaiknya 6-12 bulan sebelum keberangkatan (asli) dan fotokopi passport (halaman depan, seluruh travel history & halaman belakang) serta passport lama (jika ada)

New Zealand Immigration sejak 20 November 2017 memberlakukan e-visa, sehingga Passport Asli akan dikembalikan setelah mengajukan visa dan visa anda akan dikirimkan melalui email. 

Passport asli wajib dibawa karena pihak VFS harus melakukan scanning terhadap passport anda. 

4. Bukti dana untuk biaya hidup dan akomodasi di New Zealand (dalam bentuk rekening koran, buku tabungan, atau sertifikat deposito) minimal 1,000 NZD per bulan, atau 400 NZD per bulan jika akomodasi telah tersedia, atau formulir sponsor dari warga negara New Zealand jika kunjungan disponsori oleh mereka.

Menurut info yang saya dapat langsung dari VFS Global, tabungan kita harus bisa mengcover biaya hidup selama kita di New Zealand. Artinya berbeda antara saya yang 8 hari di New Zealand dengan Anda, yang mungkin akan stay sampai 40 hari di New Zealand. Nilai minimalnya adalah 1,000 NZD per bulan. Minimal ya, jangan mepet. Ada baiknya lebihkan. 

Tidak ada batas atau ketentuan seberapa lama bukti rekening koran harus dilampirkan. Normalnya 3 bulan rekening koran. Kebetulan karena saya bekerja di perusahaan, maka rekening saya ada 2, yang 1 khusus untuk payroll dan yang 1 lagi khusus untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari. Namun, saya hanya melampirkan rekening koran untuk kebutuhan sehari-hari selama 6 bulan terakhir. Berdasarkan dengan pengalaman saya apply visa Australia (satu Group negara persemakmuran Inggris), jika rekening anda tidak begitu aktif setiap bulannya, maka lebih baik lampirkan jangka waktu rekening koran lebih dari 3 bulan, bisa 6-9 bulan. Dan pastikan tidak ada mutasi yang sangat besar dalam jangka waktu tersebut. Jika terdapat kenaikan yang drastis, itu menjadi sebuah kecurigaan bagi pihak imigrasi. 

Karena saya tidak ada kenalan ataupun saudara di New Zealand, maka bagian sponsor dari penduduk asli New Zealand saya kosongkan. Jika ada yang mempunya saudara dan akan mensponsori kunjungan anda, ada baiknya lampirkan passpor orang yang bersangkutan dan invitation letter. 

5. Surat Referensi Kerja dan surat ijin cuti atau bukti kepemilikan perusahaan (untuk pemilik perusahaan) atau Kartu Pelajar (untuk pelajar dan mahasiswa)

Saya hanya melampirkan surat keterangan bekerja standard dalam Bahasa Inggris, dimana di dalam surat itu menyebutkan bahwa saya memang karyawan Perusahaan (sudah bekerja berapa lama, posisi/jabatan) dan ingin berlibur ke negara tetangga selama berapa hari (dijelaskan dan ditulis jelas). Tidak melampirkan surat cuti karena jika saya sudah menulis surat cuti, berarti tanggal cuti yang saya ambil sudah tetap, padahal saya belum tau apakah visa akan di approve atau tidak. Jadi saya memutuskan untuk melampirkan surat keterangan kerja biasa saja. 

6. Fotokopi Kartu Keluarga yang masih berlaku.

Saya juga melampirkan fotokopi KTP & Akta Kelahiran. 

7. Jadwal penerbangan

Karena rencana yang cukup mendadak, saya belum beli tiket pesawat atau booking akomodasi apapun. Setelah dipikir juga, lebih baik saya minta visa dulu baru di atur setelah visa didapatkan. Sehingga saya hanya membuat jadwal perjalanan dengan detail penerbangan (yang mau saya booking), tiba di New Zealand kapan dan rencana perjalanan saya setiap harinya hingga jadwal saya akan kembali ke tanah air. Menurut checklist yang saya baca, New Zealand Immigration menyarankan untuk tidak membeli tiket pesawat terlebih dahulu.

8. Additional document: Saya melampirkan NPWP saya juga.

Setelah semua data lengkap, maka waktunya melakukan permohonan Visa New Zealand. Permohonan Visa New Zealand hanya bisa diajukan melalui VFS Global, baik secara online atau manual. Jadi imigrasi New Zealand mendelegasikan pengurusan visa kepada VFS Global ini. 

Untuk biayanya, setau saya jika aplikasi online, biayanya akan jauh lebih murah berkisar antara Rp 1.7-1.8 juta. Untuk pengajuan manual/walk in ke VFS Global adalah Rp. 2,058,500.00 (bisa berubah sesuai kurs saat itu dan memang lebih mahal dibanding Australia). Itu biaya pengurusan sendiri ya, tanpa calo ataupun bantuan tour agent.

Semua informasi mengenai pengajuan segala jenis visa (turis, bekerja, tinggal menetap) sudah ada informasinya lengkap di website VFS Global. Tapi jika memang ada yang mau ditanyakan, bisa telpon ke call centernya di +62 21 304 18701. Atau kirim aja email ke info.nzid@vfshelpline.com. Saya beberapa kali menghubungi via call center dan email. Mereka responsif dengan jawaban yang memuaskan.

Kantor mereka buka selama hari kerja (Senin-Jumat) dari jam 08:00 sampai 16:00, untuk memasukkan permohonan bebas jam berapa tapi untuk pengambilan visa, untuk pengajuan individu dari jam 14:00 sampai 16:00.

Perbedaan visa online dan manual. Kalau manual itu kita download dan print form dari website, kita isi manual, kita lampiri berkas-berkas kita, kalau sudah lengkap kita serahkan form beserta lampiran  ke VFS Global. Nanti kita akan dapat receipt yang ada Reference Number. Reference Number ini yang bisa kita pakai untuk melacak status permohonan visa kita secara online. Dalam waktu beberapa hari kerja, visa New Zealand (e-visa) akan di email ke email kita apapun hasilnya dan tidak ditempel di passport.

Sedangkan kalau visa online, kita mengisi semua form secara online (sign up dulu), upload foto, upload berkas, dan kirim. Datang atau tidak kita ke kantor VFS Global, tergantung dari kebijakan mereka. Ada beberapa applicants yang tetap diminta datang untuk menyerahkan passport dan berkas berkas, ada juga yang tidak. Hasilnya akan dikirim melalui email. E-visa, jadi tidak ditempel di passport juga. 

Sebetulnya pertimbangan kami buat apply visa secara manual adalah, biar lebih mudah berkomunikasi langsung sama yang ngurus, jadi lebih jelas, kalau ada yang kurang bisa ditanyain langsung. Dan saya agak males kalau harus mengisi online dan upload satu2 datanya lagi. 

Timeline: 

Jumat tanggal 29 Juni 2018, saya masukkan aplikasi visa

Senin tanggal 2 Juli 2018 dapat pemberitahuan bahwa aplikasi visa saya sedang dalam proses oleh New Zealand Immigration

Selasa tanggal 3 Juli 2018, e-visa saya keluar dan approve untuk multiple entry selama 3 tahun!!

How To Travel to Japan Without Tour Guide

Japan has been gaining much popularity with its tourism during the past few years. Due to easy travel access, Japan is a good choice to travel on your own without joining for tour arranged by travel agency. I am not saying which one is the best, but I mean, you could go to Japan even without tour. It's up to your choices whether you want to travel by yourself or with tour and that will also depends on your travel budget. Here's the what you have to know before travelling to Japan. I'll be sharing what I have done for the preparation and hopefully it can help you guys: 

I am not a fan of Japanese culture nor country, as you might have guessed since I have blogged several post with Korean dramas, mostly I would say, I am more interested with South Korea rather than Japan. But this time, since my parents would like to visit Japan, then it goes to me to do the research and all other things to plan before we had our holiday. Thus, I started to begin my searching from Japan maps. You have to know which are you would like to visit first, after that you could plan where you want to start the journey. 

Seasons
Japan has four seasons; Spring (March - May), Summer (June - August), Autumn (September - November) and Winter (December - February). The best time to go to Japan usually during Spring and Autumn when there is little rainfall, skies are clear, and temperatures are mild. What's more, the delicate cherry blossom of spring and vivid hues of autumn leaves are visually stunning. 

Airline Ticket
Indonesia Tourism Board has encouraged tourism with so many travel fair, specially during the January to March in the first half of the year and August to September during the second half of the year. This kind of travel fair is a MUST to go if you would like to get an affordable airline ticket price to go to Japan. Mostly, this travel fair is divided into several travel fair, and the most popular one is:

• Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair (GAFT) - direct flight

I’ve heard few stories, where you could get the cheapest price by going to GAFT. GAFT is usually held on March and August, two times a year at Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC). For each sessions, they had a range you could book the airplane ticket. For example, during GAFT on March 2017, they only open the trip until 31 March 2018, usually within the range of one year. Thus, it allows you to plan your budget and money.

The first thing you have to check which bank facilitates the airline booking and payment. For GAFT, usually Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) collaborates with Garuda with discount and installment payment method. For those who came earlier can queue for the cashback program – making your ticket price even cheaper. However, as what has been circulating, the queue is unbelievable, maybe you should camp around the night before because they had a limit per day, usually around 150 up to 200 person/day and the amount of cashback is also different for certain amount of people.
But don’t worry, as even if you do not get the cashback event, you could still win the discount as GAFT offers airplane ticket with discount up tp 75%, specially during happy hour (10.00 – 13.00 and 16.00 – 18.00) with payment using the affiliated bank credit card, of course. Most favorite destination for this travel fair is Japan. Garuda offers return ticket from Jakarta to Japan for
Rp 4jt – 6jt without any transfer (direct flight). For more information, you could search and look for more information on GAFT.

• Cathay Pacific Travel Fair - transit in Hongkong

Almost the same with Garuda Indonesia Travel Fair, Cathay also offers affordable ticket price around Rp 4jt – Rp 5jt with transit in Hongkong. The difference is that, the affiliate bank is not BNI, instead HSBC. It offers 0% installment for three months with minimum transaction of Rp 10jt. Besides, HSBC also offers cashback of Rp 1jt, but you have to queue in the morning (there are limited for certain amount of people) and must do the transaction within the same day. For more information, you could check on HSBC website for Cathay Pacific Travel Fair.

• Singapore Airlines Travel Fair - transit in Singapore

Same with other travel fair but the affiliate bank is Bank Central Asia (BCA) with 0% installment for 6 months and also offers cashback of Rp 1.5jt

• Japan Travel Fair (ANA, Japan Airlines) - direct flight

All Nippon Airways (ANA) is the largest airline in Japan and the most prestigious one. It offers direct flight from Jakarta to Japan. Usually the normal price for return ticket is around Rp 10jt, while you could get discount price for return ticket only for Rp 4jt with BNI credit card. It also offers 0% installment for 12 months.

For Low Cost Carrier (LCC) airlines:

• Air Asia - transit in Kuala Lumpur 
• Jetstar - 2 times transit (Singapore & Taipei) before arriving in Osaka Kansai Airport
• Tiger Airways - 2 times transit (Singapore & Taipei) before arriving in Tokyo Narita Airport

Personally, I would say it is up to you which airlines you would like to choose. If you could, just pick the cheapest one. You could also book for open ticket, for example, arriving in Tokyo - Narita and departure from Osaka. There is no need to worry this airlines would arrive in which Airport since when you use Japan Rail Pass, everything is settled. I would discuss separately for Japan Rail Pass.

Please note that usually for one way ticket, the price would be higher rather than return ticket. Besides, you have to note that subway & trains only operate till midnight. So, if you arrived late at night, it is possible that you have to take taxi to go to the city (which is not cheap) or maybe to sleep near the Airport.

This time, I choose Cathay Pacific because we would like to transit in Hongkong for a while. Personally, I think each travel fair offers the same program. It’s just whether you are willing to queue or not. The most important thing is that, you should prepare option (date and time of your flight) to minimize time for booking the flight and possibly allows you to get the cashback. However, for GAFT, you could also get discount even if you don’t queue in the morning. Another thing, you could check on Traveloka whereby they would also offer the same price as on the travel fair. The negative thing is that, you have to pay in full and installment is not possible at all, though refundable option is available.

Transportation
It is recommended to use trains, bullet trains and also subway all around Japan because it is easy to access even if you would like to change from one city to another city. There are many type of pass which allow you to explore the city within one or two days with affordable transportation cost.

Based on what I've researched, it takes around 170 to 280 yen each time you take subway, even if it's one station only, it will still cost you 170 yen (~ Rp 20.000,-) thus, by using pass, you could cut down the travelling costs. However, you have to note that you might need to calculate and compare the total price whether it can be covered with the pass or not. For checking the transportation cost and route, you could try using Google Maps or Hyperdia

Accomodation

Talking about accommodation in Japan is not easy. It depends on the lifestyle of each person. But I would say, if you are fine with hotel price in Singapore, then you would have no problem in Japan. In Tokyo the price usually range from 7,000 -  10,000 yen per night for nice budget hotel (standard: single bed with length of 120 cm and 10m2 wide for the room ~ well, quite small). The price will vary with the number of guest present. If you book your hotel, do make sure the size of the bed otherwise, you will suffer that night.

Osaka has a bigger room if you compared to Tokyo, with slightly cheaper price per night. Meanwhile, Kyoto has a seasonal price range because this city is the most favorite for tourist, either local or international. Thus, if you plan to visit Kyoto, it is recommended to book the hotel at least 3-4 months ahead, specially during cherry blossom and autumn leaves since it is a peak season in Kyoto itself.

There are certain choices you could try to check:

• Standard Western Hotel 
• Japanese Style Hotel
• Ryokan
• Airbnb (apartment rental – which is quite popular nowadays)
• Hostel/Guesthouse (shared bathroom & private bathroom by choice)

For budget hotel, you could try to check; Hotel Mystays, Daiwa Ryonet, Toyoko-Inn. Personally, I, myself tried to find hotel from searching platform; Booking.com and Agoda.com which will help you to find a good deal. Another tips, if you are alright with shared bathroom, try to check hostel. My fave one is Grids Nihombashi East Hotel & Hostel around Nihombashi Station. Try to check Sakura Terrace The Atelier also in Kyoto.

Internet Connection

The most important thing if you travel by yourself is to have internet connection to check the direction and schedule of trains. Usually, there are several travel agent company who offers wifi-rental for 500 yen per day (~ Rp 60,000) which can be used up to 3-4 people. You could ask to be dropped at hotel or airport.

Meanwhile, you could also buy the tourist SIM Card for Rp 350.000,- from Indonesia (you can check on Japan Travel Fair as there will be travel agent who will  offer the simcard). This simcard can be used for 8 days unlimited 4G.

Budget

Talking about budget, it is again back to your style of travelling. Usually, the regular price when you eat at the restaurant is around 1,000 – 2,000 yen one time. Thus, it is recommended to make a budget of 3,000 -  4,000 yen per day. However, for budget traveller, you can also choose convenience store meal which cost around 400 – 500 yen per meal and the taste can also be said good.

Regarding how much to spend for shopping, that itself will be based on your spending pattern. For me personally, I would save up and research first the price for Japan Cosmetic Products locally then compare it with the price there.

To take note, Japan is a cash-basis country, thus many restaurants and hotels do not accept credit cards. Some will accept American Express, Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, JCB. However, please be prepared just in case. It is advisable to do the foreign exchange in your home country rather than in Japan because the rate fluctuation is kinda big.


Itinerary

It is extremely important to plan out your itinerary really well if you want to have a budgeted trip, otherwise, the transportation cost would be affected much and you will waste a lot of time. It will be different totally if you are flexible about your budget and time.

I would say, it's best to go in one direction instead of going back and forth. If you happen to get good airplane ticket, try to move from Tokyo to Osaka or the other way round, Osaka to Tokyo.
This time, since I am not searching good enough, my flight would be to arrive in Tokyo and depart from Tokyo also, which costs a huge amount of transport if I planned to go to Kyoto & Osaka as well. So, plan your itinerary well.

Taiwan, Illa Formosa 2013

Hi dreamers,

On August 6, 2013, my family and I finally landed at an island near Philippines. It's actually an island where more than 20 million population there and 95% of the ethnic is from Han Chinese.
After for more than 5 years, we finally grab the chance to come to the country where most of my favorite idols are there!!!

We took a night flight with China Airlines to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport and arrived exactly 5am in the morning.

The first destination is to grab a breakfast near Taoyuan International Airport. I really cannot remember what exactly the name of the places, but it's actually on a hotel. After grabbing my very first breakfast there, Felix and I went to find a convenient store to buy a phone card but I don't really understand why we cannot buy and there is something like card -idunnohowtoexplain- thus we finally cannot connect to the internet.

Day 1:
We went to Chiang Kai Sek Memorial Hall, National Palace Museum, Martyr Shrine, Taipei 101 Shopping Mall and Shihlin Night Market.

It's super hectic and packed day for us who just landed on that island. I never expect that we would directly go on city tour. However, the view was amazing, though along the way, the tour guide will just mention amount Teressa Teng. Mygosh, It's been like a very very long time ago.

Day 2:
We went directly in the morning to Hua Lian, in which we are going around the Formosa. I will show you the map later where I bought them at last. The journey took about 4 hours from Taipei to Hua Lian by bus with the amazing Pacific Ocean view alongside the road.

Hua Lian is famous for its natural side whereby there are lots of national park and we went to the Ami Dance Performance in the evening,


Day 3:
Enough talking about the spectacular of Hua Lian, let's just see how amazing the Taroko National Park. It was famous for its shallow bird nest cave whereby this biggest park is for tourism purposes while to protect the habitual of the shallow bird for its reproduction. It's the most famous as Grand Canyon of Asia with the length of 19km. After being amazed, we continued our journey to one of the small city, namely Taitung and rest our tired body with hot sprint in Chiben Resort. Even in the small city, we are treated with super comfy hotel and I was sleeping comfortably.

Day 4:
Early in the morning after we had our breakfast, Kaoshiung would be the next city to visit. It's the second metropolitan city in Taiwan. I really like Kaoshiung more than Taipei. The hotel was very luxurious and sadly, I didn't get a chance to go around the hotel. In the morning, we visited a National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium. The weather was very hot and grab our lunch near there. The restaurant was very crowded. At night, we have chance to go to a night market in Liu Ho Night Market and I finally found my baby milktea drink fresh from the origin, which is 50Lan (KOI in Indonesia & Singapore). The taste was incredible and I was craving for the original one now.

Day 5:
Dolled up in very feminime way, and we went to Spring Autumn Pavillion in which there were a big dragon and tiger figures there. Beside the temple, there was a lake with lots of lotus there.
We also went to Fokuanshan where we could see the giant Buddha of 25 meter. We also went inside and I got my fortune telling there. In the evening, we went to a shopping mall with ferris wheel on top of the mall, Dream Mall but I did not find anything there. No shopping and just going around. At night we went to Shin Ku Jiang Night Market and I grab a G2000 clothes for work. The night market in Kaoshiung is very different from Taipei. It's crowded and I feel like I was in Orchad Road, Singapore for some reasons.

Day 6:
Feeling tired of the city again? Well, this time we went to one of the sanctuary in Taiwan, which is Alishan National Park. We had a round trip inside the forest with more than years of history. I had a chance to find out the Sister Pond, Brother Trees and Trees of Three Generations. Each of the name is the symbolize of the history behind it. The view is spectacular and the weather is a bit cool. At last, we spend the night at Chiayi.

Day 7:
Yay!! We finally went to Sun Moon Lake. Never thought that somewhere in the middle of the lake, there's a place where Romantic Princess was shot there. Arrghhhh. But well, the view is so amazing. We finally went to Formosan Aborigine Village & Theme Park. It's actually a theme park in the middle of the forest. We should ride a cable car to get into the theme park. Amazing. I never thought there would be a place in the middle of the forest.  I played around and super excited to see the photo taken out by Felix. He doesn't even dare to ride anything.

Day 8:
Our trip is almost finished, we went back to Taipei. We went to Danshui Old Town to taste the unique of the architectural buildings. After that we went to Lover Bridge in Taipei where Meteor Garden took several shoots there.

Xiamen Winter Camp 2008

It was around November to December 2008 when I decided to join Winter Camp in Xia Men, China for three weeks. I only need to pay for the flight ticket and all accommodation will be bore by them. So, during the flight, I met up with three girls who happened to be on the same room with me. Their name starts with, N, E, and K. N & E turned out to be my junior at SMAK 7 BPK Penabur. Well, maybe this trip is to run away from reality for a while. At this time, there is no whatsapp and suchs, only messages and phone call. So don't expect things to work like now. 

There are also few friends from Jakarta. One of them I met is A & J and I don't know their name as it was 9 years ago. There was no drama at first till it all started with a simple question, "Who is that girl?" as that was what Mr. A asked to N, my room mate. And it happened the girls on my room were excited to know whether he had some interest on me. K happened to be curious much and asked Mr. A whether he likes me. He said no at first but then took back what he said as "Maybe" which for K, it seems as a "Yes". I said no, because I don't have such feelings for him... 

Few days later, I remember N sat beside me and asked me whether I really like that ITB's guy.Of course yes, I like him at that time since he's my senior in high school and he inspires me much. It's been 10 years I knew that ITB's guy and we still keep in contact sometimes.

But things progressed in such a very speed direction till I question whether Mr. A really has feelings for me or what, because he tends to be closed to each and every girls, which made a big misunderstanding between us. We all cried that night to clarify all the suspections and I love it when things had calmed down. 

However, after few days, things going on different direction as K started to make things worst. She seems to be after every guy. I met with this guy, named Mr. B, which was very charming I would say on Christmas Eve. He suddenly asked for my number which I don't have China's number at that time and I would give Natali's number to him. He suddenly messaged Natali, a very long page, 7 pages. He said he's interested on me which sounds very weird as we only knew each other for only 2 hours. He said he likes me and finds me very attractive. Well, you think you are?

But as I am still unstable in emotional intelligence and it was my first experience with such direct confession like that, my heart was moved at that time. I thought, maybe I should answer his confession in a good way. I told him, I am interested as well, but I am not sure as we just know each other only for 2 hours. We should just let it flow and see where things bring us - which sounds like a rejection for him. But we still hang out together. He held my hands as we crossed the street. Seems like a pro right, for only 15 years old guy? Crazily, why I didn't say anything. 

But as the misunderstanding deepens, K happened to like Mr.B as well. Mr. B thought he likes K too and the feelings for me was like a Christmas Eve effect. I cried that night because I don't understand why things happened twice. So many conflicts and I just don't like it. I told Mr.A about it and was forced to not letting anythings bother me again. Just focus on the camp and be happy. It turns out K & Mr.B's relationship doesn't even last for long as K moved to another guy named, Mr. P. So funny right, like a drama. 

That night when we all had to go back to Jakarta, Mr. B came to my room and we talked. I explained to him what I really mean on my answer to his confession. We all took pictures and suddenly, when I said bye in front on my room, he turned back and asked me whether I had time. He suddenly pretended there's something behind my back and while I was looking away, he hugged me tightly. He then told me, "I am not a good guy, you should meet someone better than me." and that's where he is the first person who stole that hug. Damn it. 

But overall, I love the trip and the experience. Lesson to learn: never give your love easily to someone! Appreciate your life and bring out the best in you as others would be attracted to your positive energy.
